That is James' 2010 Supercross number. He can run it all year if he wants to. They hand out the number plate to recognize the champion. However, if a rider wins 3 rounds early he still has to run his AMA assigned number (In this case it would be Dungey number 5). If the X games were AMA sanctioned, Bubba could run the number 1 and Dungey couldn't.

With that said...you guys are just piling on the guy again.. Why aren't you bagging on MC for running number 2 all the time.. after all he's being disrespectful to 3-99. You won't because he's not Bubba.

Ummmm... I don't think that is the same deal there.

I don't really care too much about the plate, but then again, it's a current mag cover, not an advertisement (technically), so yeah, a little bit of a slap in the face I guess.

the kids is fast, but off the track he has no class and for that i think he is a loser. no role model for young kids, and doesnt give a shit about his fans. glad he will fizzle out this year and get back to his reality show.

Dayummm BJ. Maybe you need to lighten up a bit. Go drop some peyote and sit in a rattlesnake pit or somethin! These guy's are just having some fun. If JS claims a number 1 plate in 2011 then these guy's will be eating crow soon enough! Yes?

No. I think a spade is a spade, and you don't see James going on the internet and talking trash about other people. That's a BIG difference.

If DC didn't have a problem with the number, why do you guys? Why trash James, DC put it on the cover.

I have no problem with it.

we wouldn't because it's not the same thing..... the SAME thing would be MC running the #1 plate in photo shoots..... how would you feel if Bubba just won the sx and mx titles back, then MC was on the cover of RacerX wearing a number 1 plate because he didn't have any other numbers around???

And, if any of you assholes don't think he has a REAL possibility to take the number one in 2011, stop fooling yourself; he is THAT good. How many of you came of the couch and scored a third in a national? Chirp, chirp....that's what I thought.

P.S. Don't expect any replies from me in this thread, I don't spend much time talking to dickheads who have nothing better to do than bash riders. Boo your riders and show your spirit, that's fine, but these bashing threads are lame.
geezuss you've posted a lot of times since saying you weren't gonna post any more.... and all your vitriolic posts come across very hypocritical.....

there is a BIG difference in MC running #2 and JS running #1. The number one plate is a little sacred in our sport, if you retards didnt know...

I dislike James. Not becuase he is black either. I found him amusing as a 125 rider, when he was battling RC he really grew on me. I think he understood that he was the next face of our sport and he really seemed like he was soaking up everything he could from the GOAT. Now that it is JS vs CR, I think they are like 2 only childs fighting over the same ball the first day of kidnergarten. Spoiled brats that make excuses, always blame someone else and nothing is ever their fault. Reed has gotten a little bit better since his year with Suzuki, he has grown up alot, I cannot say the same for James.

He is an amazing rider and any race is better to watch when he is in it, but the love for the guy stops there for me.

I actually posted the same question about his number on RacerX's Facebook wall a few weeks ago, and it was deleted, go figure.

I dont hold this against RacerX or DC, they are the cream of the crop in my eye, but I am not suprised that center of attn stewart would do this

I think some of you assholes need to lighten up on Stewart. First, he is not saying that he is the number one SX rider or the number one national rider. It could be that it was just a photo op for the cover and the number one has some appeal to sell mags. Or...maybe they didn't have number 7 around. After all, he didn't earn 7 either, assholes.

Finally, just be honest. A good many of you assholes just don't like Stewart. Maybe you don't like him because he has a show; maybe you don't like him because of the color of his skin; maybe you don't like him because he is one of the fastest riders on planet earth; maybe you don't like that he scores hot chicks and has way more money than all of you and can take two years off and still make you look like dweebs on a bike. Who knows why you don't like him, but just be honest and say you don't like him and that's why you are bashing him for a relatively unimportant thing. Either way, you're the disrespectful assholes, not Stewart.
Lighten up Francis.

Wish James would go back to running 259 and we see the kid/riding style that made that number famous again!

Were those plates for the X games possibly? That would make sense that he would use them in the photo shoot if this was the case. His number growing up was 259 to honor his friend, Tony Haines. It does end up looking bad because of the timing of the mag coming out, but I doubt it was meant to be disrespectful.

I don't think it was "meant" to be disrespectful, but it was disrespectful. Sometimes you have to take a step back and think about what you're doing and I don't think James did that.

And, they weren't X Games plates either, because if you remember he bowed out of that the past two years.

This thread is alot about nothing. James even answered that question in one of his interviews. They asked him about the number one on his bike. As he stated people don't realize that factory pro racers don't work on there practice bikes. They have someone looking after them. He said that Racer X showed up for the photo shoot and they didn't have any number 7 number plates. He just grabbed his bike and did some laps. He also stated is wasn't meant as no disrespect to anybody.

I'm not to impressed with James this year either but cut him a little slack. Especially when he already cleared the air on this months ago.
