What’s this worth? I know, I know… whatever “someone will pay for it”… so what would someone pay for it if it were to be for sale? Other than reproduction shroud graphics every single piece of this bike was Guy Cooper’s. Every sponsor decal, nut and bolt. Factory frame, suspension, exhaust, brakes, hubs, ignition, triples, titanium linkage bolts, swingarm bolt, lots of little titanium bolts, all of it was Coop’s. I’ve had the pleasure of having it in my house for a dozen years now and the honor of calling Coop a friend for longer. Debating letting someone else enjoy it now. Debating being the keyword. What’s the verdict?
Soon as I seen your user name, first thing I thought was: this is the dude with Coopers factory bike…I never purchased a Factory riders bike…20k to start? Ebay probably best method to determine price but lots of dreamers….at one time I would have paid a decent amount for this bike but with a garage full of bikes myself and downsizing on my mind… I”m going the other direction…I think the market is soft right now…. gLWs …I have the same Factory carbon silencer if anyone is looking…
Thanks for the input. Kinda what I thought, $20k on the starting point side. So hard to know with stuff like this. Funny, years ago posting a factory bike on here woulda had 5 pages of comments. Guess we really needed my boys Pete24 and Newman to keep this place going… miss them every day.
Realistically the bike belongs in a museum ….. So… the buyer is someone who has 20k+/- that can be spent on something you won’t ride…just have to find a hedge fund guy that used to be into Mx…..Terry Good or the guy in Texas with the bar/ restaurant? I”m sure kaplans will give yiu 10k and try to sell if for 100k😂

Most of us could ever tap into its full potential racing it.
You might consider Mecum in Vegas. Lots of fees and cost to go that way. But they do get a pretty solid crowd willing to spend some dollars. Bad news, this is in first of the year (January/February). A few friends attend, but if that is an option, you might want to get on their radar early. The limit the number of premium spots. Good Luck!

Haha, no, if it goes anywhere it would likely be back to Coop. I have no real desire to let it go but he’s got some old Indians and I may be up for a trade of the trade is right. It would take real money or a pre1950 Indian or HD trade to entice me.
50k at least . Guy Cooper is a Legend in Mx. I only saw him race once 91 Mn. Is Coop still riding his 05 cr125 ?
I can remember talking to Ziggy from Factory Connection around 1991, he had Wardy's 1984 SR 125 works bike and said it was no where near a stock 1991 KX 125 in power, suspesion or brakes.
Guy is getting up there in age and probably looking at his collection wondering what to do with it all. The fire at his place took a little bite but I don't think anything too serious. Pretty soon he'll be offing stuff at an estate sale or Mecum. Can't take it with you.
