Quite a bit on the calendar this weekend.
High Point.
F1 in Canada.
Pikes Peak.
And one of the biggest races of the year,
24hrs at LeMans.
Front row Cadillac lockout.
Penske Porsche got busted for being underweight, and starts from the back.

GT classes will be awesome as well.
Who's getting fired at Penske this time ? 😄
Love the 917. One of my favorite Group C sports cars of all time. Looking forward to the 24hr race tomorrow. Ferrari has dominated the last two years, hopefully one of the other teams can give them a run for their money this year.
Another one of my favorites.....
Always fond of this particular one.

Yep, that one too! I watched it win at the 24hr race in Daytona... I also liked this version. Probably not that popular by today's standards...
I worked the 89 & 90 San Antonio GPs, and just being next to those XJR 9s even at idle with the V-12 was an erection maker.
I think Brabham won in the Nissan, but the Jags were just so cool.
Strange to see the Caddy's with the Hertz livery that we're used to seeing on the Porsche's.
I worked at TWR in those glory days. Here is the 1990 LM winner restored after we won. The Brits had 3 cars on the grid, and the 1 from Valparaiso, IN took the win.
Pre-Daytona 1991
The mighty V12
I was the fueller on the 1990 Daytona 24 winner.
Always cool to hear about your work.
Hey Bill. Dallara has some work to do with that caddy. I don't know if the tires get past optimal temps but those engineering kids have to get on it!! It was great seeing the front row lockout but was hoping for a better result. Hope you're doing well !!!
Late in the race it was interesting to hear them talk about Caddy's aero situation.
A bit less slippery than others, thus better cornering, but a detriment ob the long straights.
And even a detriment in traffic in the corners.
You'd think that they'd have figured that out by now.
It's been their problem here in the IMSA series for 2+yrs now.
Also read where the #50 Ferrari had their 4th place finish taken away due to, "technical infringements".
They were found to be missing 4 bolts on their rear wing.
Hi, Kevin. The problem in WEC for the Cads is that the Ferrari being AWD does not depend as much on aero downforce for corner grip, whereas the Caddy does. That's why the Cads are down on straightaway speed, while the AWD is easier on the front tires on the Ferrari as it provides grip, not slip. With aero-dependent front downforce you are going to have more slip.
In IMSA I think the Balance of Power has favored the other makes. There is a new body kit being developed for 2026 right now. We had the car built here and sent to Windshear for its first aero test last week.
Dallara also builds the BMW, and McLaren just announced their new Hypercar for WEC and Dallara will build that, as well.

Let's just say the Ferrari has a bit of Dallara in it as well!
Thanks Bill ... hope all is well down by you. Trying to talk about friend into going to the MXdN but his newborn doesn't get along well with cars yet ... and his wife won't let him go without her 😁
Forgot to ask ... indycar was talking a new chassis for 26 or 27 ... and inside info on that ?
It would be great to attend the race in France. I really enjoyed the 24hr race, they are just great!! I would like a team to stop Ferrari domination though lol although I am glad robert kubicka and the privateer team won.
Pit Row
They pushed it back to 2028 last week. The problem seems to be with the engine manufacturers. The series wants new cars AND engines, but Honda and GM (Ilmor) don't want to commit to the expense for development. Indycar is trying to get a 3rd manufacturer involved with the idea of spreading the costs, but they haven't been successful.
For Dallara's part, the new car is well underway and we have added to the supply chain management here in Indy in order to increase the US-made content.
Sounds like either a building addition or a new offsite facility. Either way business is good !!! 👍
Toyota being courted for years to come back, however I'd like to see a European manufacturer jump in. And the only one there that makes sense would be Audi, I doubt they would considering the F1 involvement.
Anyway, good hearing from you and be safe down there !!
Audi is back in F1 next season.
Toyota got politically screwed in their recent foray into F1.
Don't remember the specifics, but I remember McNish and Davidson talking about the hurdles that were thrown in their way.
The local shop I bought Honda parts from as a kid was sponsoring one of the winning cars
