Dang, it's easy to forget how serious his injury was from watching him ride now.

Crazy how much the mental aspect determines your speed because he is used to going that fast and his mind just picked up right where it left off and his body just follows.

Wow!

Not to mention he should be pretty quick next year as well.

He for sure is proof that the easiest thing to get back is your speed. These are probably my favorite videos to watch. The first rides back from major injury are awesome.

I think the best part of this story is that Troy lee made the promise and kept the promise of saving CC's spot on the team. Very seldom without a contract (and sometimes even with a contract) do teams save a spot for a guy that sustains a serious (career threatening) injury. I have 100x's more respect for troy lee than I did before this happened.

Devin. No it's not obvious. Allot of guys that have won allot more races and even titles have been dropped by their teams when they were seriously injured. One that pops into my head right away because the injuries were so similar is Doug Henry. Honda put him out to pasture when he broke his back. Doug wasn't some unproven rookie either. The guy had 125 titles under his belt, sx wins and was leading the 250 outdoor championship when he broke his back. He still found himself looking for a ride when he came back. Then he used his Yamaha to smack honda upside their heads with his 1998 national title.

It's interesting he doesn't wear a neck brace after such a horrific injury he had. I think I would be wearing one. But then again, what do I know.

I dont care, any kind of an injury of that magnitude has to have you thinking differently about things. I'm thinking I would want to take every precaution available to prevent another injury like that. He knows what it feels like to be laid up for about a year, I wouldn't want to turn that into a life time.

That said, I am pumped to see him back on the bike. Stories like these are definitely inspiring.

he's always wore a brace and i didn't notice that until now that he didn't have it on. i know he was saying diffrent chest pros felt funny on his back / scar so who knows.

I have never said or type this phrase in my life but it's time.

"Well I'll be a monkeys uncle." I have a four inch scar on the back of my neck and when I saw that honker of a scar months ago, I told my wife this kid can only dream of getting back to where he was, now.

I am fleeping shocked. Number 1 fan right here dude. My whole family has had to endure 3 spine surgeries of mine. So we will all be watching for you. That video makes me feel like a whiney bitch. Good luck. My neck accident happened in my avatar photo btw.
