Just over a couple hours out of Los Angeles (North) open 7 days a week and it’s free.! It’s like having your own personal Motocross track, don’t understand why it’s never crowded.? Camp the weekend go Jet Skiing in Lake Isabella right next to the track.
Also has anyone heard any news about the Tejon Motocross Park.? Built by Hard Rock Casino Tejon just below the Grapevine.

I could tell you why it’s not crowded
Spent quite a bit of time there when I was younger. My dad raced there a lot, practiced there a lot and when we would go to Isabella a lot of times he’d bring the bike to ride when we were done at the lake for the day.
It’s basically no different than riding any other desert track though, so why travel all the way there just to ride for free when it’s so far away for most people and there are so many other free places so much closer.
Raced it in 87 & 88. i think it was a one-off MX race as part of a D36 or D37 offroad series. Very fun track.
I raced there once in the early 2000’s. Track wasn’t bad when prepped for a race and had a great turnout. I haven’t been back since, too many options that were closer and better.
Grew up in the area and rode there alot. Track is fun when prepped and still fun when not but gets pretty beat between preppings. It’s pretty sandy at least so it doesn’t get baked hard.
Lots of other riding around isabella too - if you like trails and free riding.
There’s a new track in Tehachapi that should be ready to open this weekend

Larry Brooks in the comments, asking when the team can come testing ….
I’ve seen that all over Instagram. That place looks awesome.
It I remember correctly, Kernville is 1988 National Champ, George Holland’s hometown.
No. George is from Kerman, Ca. Near Fresno.
Kernville track is about 45 mins east of where I live, Bakersfield. They used to race there a few times a year but the track takes so much water it never seemed worth it for the promoters. It was always awesome riding there.
We use to race there back in ‘03-‘07. It definitely sucks up the water… lol
We had a couple good days after a rain and track was great
We use to race up at MX3, over next to the Famosa raceway too.
Raced Sprockets Park back in ‘78-‘80 as well. I just dated myself
Miss the MX3 days, those were good times next to the drag strip.
No media types to document said Bro down….= low turnout
Pit Row
That's cool, my cousin just moved near bye to South Lake. We'll check it out!
I remember doing a race there where it was a one moto, 30 min long, cash race. Fun track, Nice little step up to the turn up on the pits level. Did some dozer work the day before for them as they were struggling with prep. Actually broke my scaphoid there during the Vet moto. Good times. Made for a long drive back home with a broken wrist HAHA
I rode there alot in 85 86, on my 84 KX125, loaded up in the back of my 85 TOYO 4X, with my German shepherd pup, cooler, and fishing pole in the back and my girlfriend with me. We would get there at first light, ride motos, then go to the lake. Good times. Before that, I rode Jawbone canyon alot. One time, on my 83' Husky 250CR, some legit desert racers took me on a ride from Jawbone, they schooled me, they got me to climb this insane hill, then raced back down( holy shit). They said you could ride from Jawbone to Isabella, I havent done that(yet).
I ride the Piutes a lot. You pass through, if you ride from Jawbone to Isabela. I’ve done that on my adventure bike, it’s a nice ride. But I’d rather ride my 300 in the trees…
There was a ride from Shane Trittler’s OHV area up to the Piutes, sone went back down into Isabella.
