But he needs to get off CP's jock.

The last two laps made me sick.

"here's where he is going to catch him".

"no, it's right up here".

I don't normally do to much disagreeing w/you but in this case I think you're off base a wee bit. It's Emigs job to keep the race exciting whether someone is 1 sec or 20 sec behind and sometimes that means embellishing a little at times. Also in his defense up until very recently CP has never really had a hard time closing the gap on anyone, including Canard.

They had the same gap for 5 or 6 laps. It wasn't like CP ran him down and was making up copious amounts of time in certain spots.

One of the places was that BIG double. I don't think CP jumped it at all, maybe a couple laps, and Trey was doing it just about every lap. Emig thought CP was making up ground there?

Well at least he was following the racing, sometimes he tries to finish what he is rambling about and doesn't comment on the racing that is happening. Then Weege has to interrupt him to actually call the race.
Overall he does a pretty good job.

There were so many lines on that track Pourcel's one advantage over everyone else, his creative line selection, didn't really come in to play. All the smart lines he had were not faster than the lines Canard had. Stale mate. That being said when riders do follow each other for 5 or 6 laps you never really know what's going on. Canard controlling the pace? Pourcel waiting to make his move? Both guys just going flat out but matching each other? As an announcer it is his job to speculate. Speculating the same finish as they stand makes for a boring broadcast.

I think it's obvious Emig admire CPs skills, which is cool because it's what's all about, but at the same time don't I think he takes away anything from Canard or the rest? But I'm biased since I admire CP.

But I was thinking since there are so many people that seems to hate CP and have an neurotic urge to express that, someone like Emig needs to stand up for him?

I think Emig is doing a really good job now. I used to thin DB was the king and everything other than him was wrong, but now I think the shows are ok. Jason is good to.

Just saying...

That didn't bother me about Emig, but is it my imagination or his he getting stuck a lot in his speech and saying "umm" "uhh" etc. more than usual? I've noticed Jason having to keep things moving a lot lately when Emig has a brainfart.

Why did David Bailey stop doing the broadcast?

I noticed Emig doing the same thing.

Also, it seems like he has a boner for Stewart but doesn't give the same razzle dazzle for RD.

There's not much anyone can do. In most sports the announcers are biased toward one team or the other in the way they call games or races. Guess MX/SX is the same way.

The same way he talked about Palluzi and his JGR Yamaha ride? Quit digging.

Because to some, he's a surrender monkey frenchman taking another job away from an Ammurikan. Same people who have never given Stewart a chance and refuse to acknowledge his accomplishments.

I always bet on the guy who eats shit bad, then told he'll never race again, makes a comeback and just kicks ass and takes names...CP is an amazing rider and has come from a place that most riders will never pull off ! Not taking anything away from Canard, he's an amazing racer too, just a big fan of CP also.

This shouldn't be a thing of us vs them as most seem to get all caught up in.
Both of these kids, & I mean kids as in they're both very accomplished professional athletes, yet very young, are 2 seasoned young veterans already going at it beyond their years. That's what I appreciate most about both guys.
In my day a pal came up with the adage, " How much effort do you give, 100%".
Both here do just that.
Both do it Indoors & certainly Out.
Both have had to over come huge odds to get back into the fray of being the classes of the class.
Both are soon to be 450 boys.
I'm pals with both teams and likewise respect them all.
That's what they both deserve, no more no less.
They're both Champions and Champions past.
Saturday at Pala will crown a new Champion.
For me they're both worthy.

Man you guys need to quit bitching! Emig is great to have and provides way more knowledge of the inside of the sport than most people on this earth! Give it a rest and be thankful we have him instead of someone that doesn't know shit!

Jason does a excellent job also!

What is next to bitch about??? If you want you can call me a bunch of names and try to degrade me but don't worry, I won't lose any sleep over it so bring it on cry babies!

Emig was particularly sluggish in 450 broadcast. It was noticeably bad, and saved by Jason bailing him out time and again. He's normally better than he was last week.

Maybe there was some distraction going on in the booth, with the visual feeds, or in one ear?

That's what I noticed, too. It's great to have such an experienced champ for a color commentator. He's been generally getting much better throughout 2010, but last week he was really off, and painful to listen to at times.

i like jeff emig just fine. he is still in tune with the sport and has a great job. but like any job, you need some kind of training or schooling. please send him to a speech class and an announcer's school. i know that feld has both for their announcers, not that all of them attend. we would all benefit. dbm
