I can't believe they just showed that. The medical crew dropped him as well when they were trying to run with him on the stretcher. RIP

"that sport" is our sport too Davo, we are all in motorcycle racing Bud, and the ignorant and sensationalizing outside media will go after it as they usually do, putting it all in the same basket.

Whats with the track crews? The guy was alive when they got to him, put him on a stretcher- running all out of sync in the gravel- drop him-

the guy had massive internal injuries- the race should have been red flagged and the poor guy attended to by a medical team on the spot.

Those goons may have killed the guy by their horrible actions.

Fuck me that was so wrong!

Maybe it's the greedy ass promoters/organizers of the race wanting for "the show to go on" so as not to disrupt the show and piss off the fans. Just a guess.

After round 1 in Quatar, Shoya was my favourite rider in moto2. What a rider and character. I was riding today when I got news of it and I shed some tears. So tragic.

That was a horrific crash! Only 19 years old...how terribly unfortunate. Godspeed and condolences to the Tomizawa family.

Shoya was not only an incredibly talented rider, but a great kid as well. My wife and I had the pleasure of spending most of the weekend hanging out with Shoya at the Indy GP last year. Great kid with a great attitude. He grabbed my video camera from me and started interviewing me in broken english. He told us that he only had one bike for the weekend and he crashed it and bent it up bad enough that he couldn't run the race. Since he couldn't race any more, he just started hanging out with us and we ended up taking him to the flattrack race (the Indy Mile where Kenny Roberts did a few hot laps for the crowd). Hard to believe that Shoya ended the year as a 20th place guy with just one bike in the 250 class then came out and dominated the very first Moto 2 race ever in Qatar this year! He had a bright future and will be missed not only as a rising talent, but as a friendly face in the paddock as well.

Newspaper here reports on absolutely zero motorcycle coverage,that is until something tragic happens and then theres a big write up.Really irks me.Godspeed to this unfortunate guy.

At the Indy gp last week when they crashed they just scoop them up as fast as they can with no regard to what kind of injuries they have and run with them? Unbelievable R.I.P. Young Man
