I know it is getting old, and Boeing shit the bed getting its replacement completed, but why can't they just keep using the current AF1?

I as most Republicans ive heard voice theor opinions are sketchy at best on this. For all the reasons mentions so far. The but at the end of it everytime so far is how long will it be in service as AF1 and does it actually go to Trump once he's out of office as lib media is spinning it.
So far it sounds like as mentioned by TG and LL it will be in US service for a while after trumps out and it will never be "HIS" plane. As long as that's clear, as long as DOD is good with the upfit and there's no tie to favors or back scratching that isn't in the people's best intrest. I'm OK more or less with it. But as people have said if there anything trumps "giving them" for it then that needs to be discussed and put to the front for the public. I think its dumb in our hyper partisan political system of the last 20 years but if our tax dollars get spared from buying the plane to upfit it i would be interested.

Definitely does. Zealots on both sides are unhinged. I don't stress about the left zealots as much because I never had any common ground with them and expected nothing of them. It's disappointing to me that many people who are in many ways like minded have given up so much to support one personality, and that's why I tend to get more frustrated with the blind support of him. Conservatives used to be the principled ones and those principles were ones I believed in. Many of the people who used to agree with me on principled issues have tossed all of that aside to support one guy who by any objective measure is not someone to be admired. Hopefully people will recommit to those principles when they realize they've been conned but I'm not confident it will ever happen.
