450SX Champion. 450MX Champion. Rookie season. Accomplished more at age 20 than most in this sport can do in an entire career. Dungey is the Fastest Man on the Planet. Results don't lie.

Wasn't that the year when Villopoto and Townley's chain came off on the first lap of the main event ? I was sitting in the crowd feeling robbed of a good race between the 2 pro circuit riders.

The first solid nickname presented yet.

The "Groat" thing is lame. Might as well be Maroat ( most amazing...) or Brithots (best rookie in the history of the sport)

"Goat" has history with Ali, and is an ironic twist on what is otherwise a negative nickname.
"Groat" is a medieval coin, and as a nickname is just stupid, not clever.

Dunno why Dungey hasn't got justified cred for his accomplishments? Maybe because the 450 class lacks competition (my humble opinion) and that some consider he got his 250 last year because Pro Circuit fucked up. Despite that he's the man right now (in the US) and I doubt any AMA rider (including CP has anything for him right now or next year). How he week after week delivers and pulls away from all the rest is pretty impressive.

So, RD rules, and he deserves it.

Erin Bates asked Dungey what will keep him motivated after he has won everything there is to win at the age of 20.

He said he wants to keep pushing forward because one day he wants to be the best. That is the attitude I like to hear and what will keep him pushing for years to come.

He IS the best in the biz right now, but in his eyes he still has a long way to go before he can become one of the best in the sport.

After RC retired I really thought his accomplishments were untouchable. Wow. 2 years later Dungey shows up and proves he could meet or exceed RC's numbers in the next 8 years and then retire. This sport never ceases to produce amazing people.

dungey has been running half to 3/4 throttle...it's all he needed this year. if you pecker pilots don't think he can twist it up a notch or 3 you really don't know much.

it's one thing getting beat by james stewart when james is running full throttle (only way he knows how) but it's an entirely different degree of t humiliation when you rides balls to the walls and the guy that beats you is riding like he's on a trail ride with pops. you could take James beat down a lot easier imho.

congrats to the ryan, the dungey family and to team suzuki

i say dungey is the man to beat come a1...a year older, wiser and faster.
