Is there any truth to a rumor I heard about Webb being protested?
Is there any truth to a rumor I heard about Webb being protested?
Could be, man
Yes, it was addressed by Steve, JT and Weege on the review podcast. HEP Suzuki filed the protest, however no penatly was given. Webb's stance was the he caught the light in his periferal but was already fully committed to jumping. The officials agreed after reviewing the video.
Potentially, yes.
Thanks, TK.

Kinda the same deal as Chase jumping on the no jumping flag. Its so much a fine line that they ruled in favor of both Chase and Webb which is the right call.
Yea, and I can get it from HEP's end too. If Kenny saw that and lost time because of it, then he's going to feel a certain way about obviously. But commitment to jumping in those conditions isnt the same as in the dry. Backing out late would probably cause more harm than good for both riders.
With Chase's, not only did the light come on right as he was on the face of the jump, but had he checked up, it would have been way worse for all involved, with him right on top of the downed rider.
The one guy who had the balls to jump the obstacles in the fight for a championship under some of the worst conditions we've ever seen.
I saw no issue with what happened with Chase jumping on the flags, he was commited....pretty safe to say the same for CW if the officials let it go.
Not a good look HEP Suzuki....
I thought Star was the only to Protest ? Who Knew
You cannot expect riders to hammer on the brakes in the mud inorder to not jump! I did not see Webb’s incident but Sextons came on when he was on the up side of the jump.
Usually I'm the first to light up a rider for jumping on a red cross situation, but in Chase's case, I believe he did the safest thing, which was to clear the downed rider and avoid any entanglement. He was, after all, already committed to jumping anyway. Hitting the brakes could only have humanly been done at the worst possible time - while leaving the ground.
I did not see the Webb scenario, but it sounds like the same thing applies.
You also said that was the best comeback ride in the history of SX so I think your Webb blinders are set to the max.
HEP suzuki are those morans in Prii and Subarus who slam on the brakes the second they see a Yellow (no pun intended) risking a rear ender.
