Sardinia is a pain to get to and, since it's Europe, the riders don't get travel dollars. But that track is wicked cool and very tough.
Loved the track.
Nah Roberto - it was Ben Townley I was referring to ...... I was just picking on Kiwis here as is my (bad) habit.
EMX125 has that 13 year old to 17 range, so, you get some really substantial 'differences' in the size and experience in that class.
Little Townley is 14, and, Quite small - I think it's his first year in EMX125?
I'm a bit of an admirer of BT - I just rustled up his DVD, 'Paced', from the 2005 MXGP season and the MXDN. He, BT, produced / financed it himself, and, Adam Wheeler ( of On Track Off Road ) that some here will know from this years GP Reports / Pods here on Vital, was the Director of it. *Watching it now, Adams commentary is , shall I say, rather subdued *
It a good Video - I thoroughly recommend it. I think Duke Marketing may offer it for sale. Maybe BT himself, too.
There's a fair bit of rider interview grabs, including RC. It's a great bit of History.
After his 2004 MX2 Title, he did 2005 in the 450 MXGPs, finishing 3rd, with 4 GP Overalls. Another Kiwi, Josh Coppins, got 2nd that year. Everts, of course, the Champion. Then, BT went to the USA, to lose 2006 to a knee (injury) . Then, did so well, before more injuries got him.
I'll be in trouble with The Authorities, as, Dastardly Kiwi Appreciation is frowned upon, but I really admire BT, Coppins and The King Brothers.
Young Cole Davies really looks to have a great future, and, Hopefully, BTs Boy will get there.
Cole McCullough is 17 I believe, he’s been the that class for 4 years, he looks massive compared to Levi.

I hope this does not affect next races.
They say Sardinia is more challenging then Lommel, so thumbs up for Jeffrey
So far as I know the mx2/mx1 are 1500,- so maybe the emx and wmx are 300,- euro?
Indeed.
And add guys like Valin, Rossi, Farres, Walvoort and Grau who are injured, Oliver parted ways with his team, the smaller teams or privateers don't want to spend the costs to go to the island (Nilsson, Olsson, Soulimani, Michelis, Gwerder, Pergel,...) That's already 10 to 12 guys missing on the grid who normally would line up.
Our riders Nilsson, Olsson and Michelis will do Arco this weekend.
We do 9 GPs where all 3 riders are racing and then we do another 4 were either one or two riders will enter.
In our case the reason not to enter is not the costs to get to Sardegna, but the time to get there.
We run this team next to our normal daily jobs. So teammanagement, race mechanics, the mx shop Resa, we all have a full time jobs/businesses. Basically we take time off and help in the team to give 3 riders a shot to each do roughly 10 GPs a year. Sardegna is for us in terms of travel not one of the best 8 to 10 best GPs to do, so we picked others.
Edit: Since i see the entry fee of 1.000-1.500 euro often mentioned: Since 2023 the entry fee for MXGP and MX2 wildcards is 300 Euro, before that it was 1.000 euro.
Thanks for the rectification and insight!
