That should be the name for every single champion since the beginning of MX.. I won't bother to post stats but if you want to search someone here did a run down on past champions for the last 40 years and you would be surprised how many won championships against what were considered weak fields. Take JBS big bike outdoor championship for example..

Most all of them can be put in the lucky category if that is how you roll.

The "Guys Leading" crashed while tryin' to out-race HIM.

The Guys that aren't there crashed while he was checkin' out.

The Guys that aren't there have had opportunities to race with him and have gotten BEAT...Chad DID win Hang-Town, tho!

The Guys that aren't there CRASHED at the very same EVENTS that he was at...and...that he usually WON; yet, HE DIDN'T CRASH HIMSELF OUT of the Race(s).

Remember San Francisco? Ugly crash, bent up controls...He "Magoo'd" it.

So, in the end, you're making EXCUSES for them...not HIM.

Me? The only "What-If" I'm interested in is RV...that was lookin' VERY INTERESTING before HIS crash at St. Louis.

Winnings a tough job, if the "fastest" guys crash out, somebody has to do it.
You asterisk people need to realize it's racing and that's why they run every lap of every moto; what coulda/woulda/shoulda been means fuck all.
