Hey guys....My Alpinestars Tech8's are getting worn , and I was looking at the TCX pro 2 boots to replace them with.
I wear a size 11 in the Alpinestars......do the TCX boot sizes stay about the same size. will both size 11 boots fit about the same?
I don't wear the booty's with the Alpinestars....i just wear double socks and the size 11 boot fits great.
I can't find any where around my area which stocks the TCX boots , so I can't try them on.
Any help would be good.
Thanks guys!

Durable, and safe.
I figured since i had to run a size 11 with double socks , my feet are probably real close to about a 10-1/2. If i ended up getting a size 12 TCX....that makes me a little Leary.
Damn.....maybe what i'll do is see if i can find someone at the track with some TCX boots and try them on.
Thanks though for helping out.

I found some online last light for $253.00 !! That's less than 1/2 the price i paid for my Tech 8's like 7 friggin' years ago!
As far as sizing, typically I wear a 9 in regular shoes and wear a 10 / 44 in TCX.
Pricing is great as well - I bought mine from RevZilla for about $260 with free shipping (and I got them in 2 days). Also - they have a 30 day free return policy if you don't get the right size the first time.
The sub $300 range for GREAT boots (not co-branded junk) is a huge deal and a market that is NOT being sought after.
KGA, I hear where you're coming from and while I agree, there are alot of factors when pricing a boot or any product for that matter. I wish we could be in that sub $300 range but realistically it's not possible for us. Our target MSRP on the PRO 2.1 is going to be $439. It's a hell of a lot of boot for that price. We have been testing the new boots for over 4 months now and have had ZERO failure, Nick Wey, Broc Tickle, Taddy Blazusiak, Marc Coma, Cyril Despres have all raved about the new product. I'm really looking forward to getting the new stuff out there.
Thanks for backing our brand, it's been a tough road that's for sure but for 2011 we have some really great stuff coming out.

So are you saying that all this new tech thats going into the boot, is going to increase the longevity of the product, to compensate for the $110+ increase in the MSRP? That to me is the bottom line. Price versus performance is key. I have zero interest in paying $400+ for a boot, regardless of the "great new features", and in market research, I'm not alone. Especially given the fact that the $300 TCXs that I've worn in the past have performed so great. Why would I want to pay even more when the product is so good the way it is?
I'm assuming you're also just trying to increase your brand's value and trying to bring yourself up to a level of recognition equal to the other two or three players in the market. But again, there is a market just below that, that isn't being consumed like it should be. Sure others are producing a lesser boot for that price range, but they are very weak.
I'd rather see a continuation of the current Pro 2 and maintain the domain in that price range. Dropping out of that market and jumping right into the Tech 10 and SG10 field....I'd love to hear the marketing strategy behind that.
As I said, I would like to keep a product in that sub $300 range but it's really not possible for us, there are too many competitors that have that "me too" product. Yes, increasing the brands value and primarily our identity is something that we have battled with since our name change from Oxtar. We have designed and are in production on a boot that will compete with and out perform the higher priced boots at a price that is far less money. Is it affordable? Considering what the options are, I say yes. Is it ideal for a guy that has to outfit his whole family, probably not but there are 8-10 other brands that offer that $99-189 price point. We do offer a lower model that can fit in and will compete but until you build the brands identity you will continue to be outsold by the "me too's".
