Pourcel is a cocky prick. I hope so badly that Canard wins this championship. Pourcel better hope he can hold on though because he will not be a champ on the big bikes!

I think Canard was on cruise control and got way laid by the sneaky Frenchman. Helluva a ride by Pourcel. Not a CP fan, either!!!!

What are the chances that TC38 was getting tired from riding his butt off in the first moto, and CP377 had more energy at the end of the moto?

Trey rode great first moto, Christoph rode great second moto.

CP rode amazing in moto 2, made that track look smooth while TC and the rest were getting beat up a bit. That's after the 2nd 450 moto too, the track was at its worst. I don't know about yous guys but when I crash I usually ride better right after..... Then there is the next day ;( I wonder how KDubs feeling today.

I was totally amazed by that moto. I watched it after the fact knowing that Pourcell would end up winning it but kept thinking that there was no way he was gonna catch Trey. That was one of the biggest come from behind rides I have ever witnessed. They need to take that video of CP and his line choices late in the day and show it to all the other riders. The kid has some serious moto IQ.

pourcel rode the wheels off that bike in the second moto.

Wow...I really never considered that if I was a fan of someone that I had to HATE his competitors. I've always wanted the racers I've supported to face the gnarliest competition possible (same when I race)...like the Indians believed that your power was only as great as the strength of your enemies. Trey can always hold his head high...win or lose.

fact is, after watching that Moto 2 video, Pourcel is one bad, gnarly, hard core moto motherfucker.

Ride of the season?

Until this morning I'd avoided reading the Moto 2 results and so didn't know Pourcel was going to win. When I saw how far back he was at the beginning, I had no idea he was going to catch and pass Canard.

And I loved that shot of Pourcel and Canard jumping sideways, feet off the pegs coming up and out of the Screw You section.

Hard core, full panic mode racing at it's best!

Canard raced 70 minutes yesterday. Pourcel raced 40 minutes. That was the difference in the last laps of the second moto.

I can't agree with that - not totally.

I watched Pourcel's crash. He hit the ground damn hard and he was clearly hurting when he walked off the track.

True, he didn't ride the first moto, but he was physically damaged going into that Moto 2 race.

1) Lappers were in the way like crazy. Canard couldnt catch a break from the lappers, they were constantly in the way. And after watching the 1st moto on the allisports I saw it was bad then too. Didnt realize how bad it was 1st moto when I was at the track.

3) It's Pourcel's best track; there's no denying that after watching him take the boys to the woodshead and beat 'em last year(including Dungey). He just knows how to find his way around the GP-style track of Unadilla.

4) Canard rode HARD that whole 1st moto. From tracking down Barcia to being pushed by Wharton. He wasn't able to conserve energy at all racing the 1st moto. Had he been able to save energy he might have held Pourcel off for the last lap and 1/4...i didnt see where Pourcel got by him.

THe first 2 are IMO the biggest contributors to Pourcel's moto 2 victory though.

Yeah, he was hurting so bad that he came back and won the second moto. That was a two dimensional road racer type high side where the crash energy is dissipated as you skim along the ground. He didn't screw himself into the ground from 20 feet up. If Poucel loses this championship again it will be because he tripped out and sat on the side of the track when he should have gotten his butt up, refired his bike and salvaged some points.

watching a crash and acting like you know fuck-all about what type of force was inflicted is bullshit. i've high sided and been hurt as hell and then again i've highsided and been just fine. to act like you know what type of force was endured is lame.

The clue that he wasn't injured is CP's second moto. If he rode around in the middle of the pack during the second moto, then you could surmise that he was injured. Instead, he came from behind, reeled in Canard and won the second moto with energy to spare. That tells me that he could have gotten back up in moto 1 and salvaged points.

It's called adrenaline and desire. He tried walking it off for a sec but went atraight to his knees. His lower back had dirt all over it and then they showed him on the broadcast and his stomach was all scratched up. I guarantee you he is feeling it today. Probably can't move. But you sit on your computer and know the forces his body took? That is laughable.

He got up, he rode to the pits, he came back an hour later and smoked everyone. Two points will be the difference if Canard wins the last six motos and Canard has won 5 of the last 7 motos so that is a real possibility. Pourcel will be wishing he had sucked it up and salvaged a few points during the first moto at Unadilla if that happens.

I'm with Cam here. I didn't think the crash looked that bad, just got the wind spanked out. Thats at tough quick recovery though. He was so rippin' in that second moto though. Made a fan outta me.

Will be interesting to see if Pourcel has got 6 more motos in him or 3. I can't lie, Pourcel is great to watch, but I love the way that Canard rides with his heart on his sleeve.
