18" rear, 2.2 gallon tank and some lights so they basically built an XCF type version of their bike which I think was a good move. Entices me for sure as I may be in the market next season. Pricing is same as MX bikes too which is nice but if they are anything like the KTMs the off-road bikes hardly see the discounts the MX bikes do.

Same or different transmissions than the MX bike?

2.2 gallon tank is sweet, that's big enough for a lot of guys to not have to put on one of the aftermarket behemoths.

I think its the same transmission, which I think is fine. I think people get too hung-up on that sometimes, 99% of the woods riding I do I'm in two gears the whole time so just mess with your gearing until those two gears are where you want them.

Yeah a 2.2 gallon is what most KTMs are and thats gotten me through plenty of 2 hour races.

Different transmission, 6-speed.

I like the sound of it. Specs show the 450 listed at 256lbs, which is 17lbs more than the mx version. Seems like a lot for 1 extra gear and 1/2 gallon of gas. Wonder what else changed?

Lights, extra handlebar switch for lights, looks like it maybe has a horn. I am sure it has a dash. It probably has a heavier flywheel and bigger stator and rectifier to go with it. I see a kickstand. If you look at Husky TE or FE models vs the comparable MX models you will also see a big weight difference.

That does seem like a lot of extra weight.

Headlight, tail light, kick stand, 18in rear tire.  I suppose all that can add up pretty quick too.

If I didn't have a new 25 YZ250FX I'd honestly be putting a deposit on the 250. I like everything about it but the headlight.

Appears to come standard with a fan as well, pull the lights off and you have a bike thats ready to race as well. Tempting!

Also has fan, speedometer, hand guards, skid plate, license plate mount, and a grab rail under the rear fender.

That stuff starts to add up fast.

I'm an off roader to the core but I sometimes laugh when dudes start loading their bike up with literally every guard known to man and don't blink an eye at adding 20lbs to their bike.  A lot of times for shit they don't even need.

Not street legal. So an unlocked ECU, no need to desmog it and replace the ECU and muffler to get it to run right.

If this is reliable and stays priced right and they get it street legal, they'll sale a ton of them IMO. Nice looking bike with quality components.

MSRP is $9800 for the 250 and $10800 for the 450. That is pretty competitive. What the pricing will be otd is anyone's guess. Have they been slapping a lot of "fees" on the MX bikes?

They listed power and torque for the enduro models but not the MX so no way to compare. They are saying a 12,800 rpm rev limiter on the 250 which is quite a bit lower than the MX bike.

There are some states that you will be able to plate it. I have plated Austrian bikes with that same set up.
