Team Spotlight | AVL Race Team
#28 Sam Gaynor – 450. | Bigwave photo
#377 Daniel Elmore – 450. | Bigwave photo
“AVL” in AVL Race Team stands for the Morin family: Alex, Vincent, and Louis Morin. The team is based out of Drummond, NB and will be a force in 2025 and the future. Erin, Ontario’s Sam Gaynor will return after some very serious scaphoid reconstruction surgery and Telkwa, BC’s Daniel Elmore still has unfinished business to attend to.
With the 2 of these riders on the track in the 450 class, the team should be ready for some good results. Here’s a little bio on the team from their web page, AVLRacing.com:
The AVL Racing Team was established in 2019, by Louis Morin, a man with a passion for motorsports.
Louis’ desire to establish a team in the sport of motocross stemmed from the many years he competed with the Arctic Cat Snowmobile Team in Canada. Throughout this time, he enjoyed observing the operations side of the team, just as much as he enjoyed competing. This fuelled his dream to own and operate a team of his own.
The AVL Racing Team desires to offer a stress-free, team oriented environment for our riders, providing them with state of the art equipment and resources to perform at their best; while staying community minded, giving back to young and up-in-coming riders.
As the 2025 season approaches, the AVL Racing Team has partnered with the legendary manufacturer, Husqvarna for the season, with dealership support from Toys for Big Boys.
Daniel has been training down at Moto Bros in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Took a ride over to Club MX yesterday to deliver the WLTN Kawasaki teams hoses. My wife and I sat and chatted with Steve Simms for about an hour at their Club MX team garage and Steve is a super nice and friendly guy to sit and talk with. By the time we got back home Steve already had a set of the Works hoses on Nicolette’s practice bike. Can’t wait to see the 250 setup with an electric pump installed. We found the needed J hose thats needed for an E pump!
3 West and 6 East is kind of wonky, but nice to see the inclusion.
The best thing about the schedule is that we have Ste-Julie back on it.
Yea!
At first they had ST JULIE as the track name and city name . Then they fixed the track name (STE-JULIE) but I see they still haven't fixed the city name on their visuals... oh well

Good track ? Sand ? Know anything about the week long practice & race at Deschambault ? I can’t find results only the pro day with pro classes, premix & women’s . 50+ runs with another class , 40a 40b separate classes but race together. Do they double drop the gate . I,m sure it will be last minute deal with a week or 2 to build a bike . Practice etc. passports take forever now I better do that when I get home soon .
Ste-Julie is hardpack.
To find amateur results enter this , see pic. Then click on the date not the track that wants to call a number that don’t exist. All the amateur classes on pro weekend r listed.
Deschambault amateur trophies r awesome. Would that race qualify a rider for Walton 2 weeks later ?
No they are separate amateur nationals. You'd have to qualify for Walton through the qualification system.

v29 updated.
We forget about tdags?
Missed the update I provided above.
Still working on details of his plan.
I'm bummed the series isn't what it used to be. Liked starting in BC and moving east. Good sponsors, TV package, two solid announcers.
Curious to know what you guys think of the stages.
IMO, it adds nothing to the racing. Last ditch effort to keep the triple crown name.
Edit: Typo
Just get rid of the triple crown name and call it the Canadian Motocross Nationals
Would have much rather seen them add the "stages" money to the series purse.
