1. He isn´t in contention and Dungey wouldn´t risk racing his pace to lose championship.

2. Bubba is well rested after "sitting on a couch doing TV shows"

3. Everyone said he was going to win and "no one said otherwise" - screenshots FTW to prove otherwise.

The same guys who have been talking down on Bubba and how Dungey would smoke him will be the same people in a few hours going "yeah, Bubba owns, I KNEW he could do it all along"

Remember RC outdoors in 04? James has that same determination!

It's not an "excuse" to state the obvious - that Dungey has a lot to lose by riding over his head to beat James (if, in fact, he has to ride that way to beat him, and who knows about that). I'd have more admiration for Dungey if he just kept James in sight for the first 20 minutes, then put on a charge to see if he could catch up with him and made a rational decision about what he'd gain, and what he stands to lose, if James is too far out there. That's smart racing. Of course, racing being what it is, who knows how things are going to play out? One of them could get a bad start, fall down, break something on the bike, get tangled up with a lapper, get a rock to the adam's apple and not be able to breathe for a few laps...that's what makes racing fun. All the "common knowledge" is out the window when the gate drops.

Kinda obvious but I think it will be all about the start.

If James gets a bad start and Dungey does not, I don't think James can catch him.

And vise versa.

A guy who went 24-0 the last time he raced outdoors doesn´t crash out of a race outdoors that easily.

Can´t wait to read all the Bubba-love.

I would say that THIS is the sentiment that most normal folks on here have. There are really no over the top Dungey fans screeming he is unbeatable etc etc,, supporters yes but i have never seen the kind of mania that bubba fans generate here for any other rider..
To predict or place a bet that a rider can win as an opinion is one thing but the "rabid" bubba fans flat out guarantee he will win! Of course all bubba fans do not fall into this category but you know who you are..

Heck i don't ever predict a guaranteed winner, its crazy to do so! Just support your favourite rider and hope for a great raceSmile

Anyone that underestimates James is an idiot. I'm one of the guys that has made no predictions about today and even after practice I have no idea whats going to happen. If James walked away with both motos it wouldn't surprise me and vice versa. I personally think Clement Desalle could surprise the hell out of some of you. I just hope it's a good race either way.

What has changed? Dungey is in the mix?

2 years ain´t nothing in mx. You act like it happened when Moses was around Tongue The only two riders who weren´t there to be smoked in 08 were Desalle and Dungey.

Stewart's definitely a freak on a dirtbike, but I would be disappointed if Dungey lets him walk away with this. There is no way Stewart's just been sitting at home eating fried twinkies. He knows where Dungey is at right now and has been getting ready for it.

No one knows how this race is going to play out. James has been off the bike for a while now, and if things don't go his way, it would be very understandable.

Then again, he may come back as strong as ever.
I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but who knows. It's really hard to come back after such a long lay off at this level.

I wish them both the best.

Hey panic revver, you better get big lenny to get that second box of tissues for you....your bubba didn't make the MXdN team! The first of many things for you to cry over today.

Good to see they gave the spot to Short. He did deserve it after all.

With that being said, I´m impressed with Dungey and Desalle! And yes, I might have overestimated Stewies return. He will however smoke anyone ones he´s back to his outdoor speed

So what happened? I didn't see James smoke the field or even come close to running Dungey's pace...... Now you can make some excuses.
