As someone above mentioned, the regular MX34 and 3S is a great combo and they even work on concrete hard blue groove. I have friends that run the MX34 front that someone above mentioned, and they like that tire, but they have never tried the 3s, and I'm guessing either would be a great choice.

Unless you are an AMA pro, running the spec tires is utterly pointless, you will notice zero, or close to zero difference in them, plus the carcass is harder than the non spec version so it has slightly less bump compliance .

I ran the original Michelin mid soft for a few years and they are good, but overall i prefer the Dunlop combo I mentioned now, The new Michelin versions definitely do not hook up quite as well on harder packed dirt.

I have also used the Scorpion mid soft front which is excellent even on hard pack, but the traction falls off quicker than others, so overall I don't think it's worth the money unless you can afford to eplace them frequently.

My friend Austin Politeli, whom is a current AMA Pro and raced the last Anaheim 1 race, and finished 4th overall in 2024 in arena cross, runs the standard MX34 rear and Scorpion mid soft front, and I doubt that anyone here is as fast as he is. Brian Brimhall also runs the standard MX34 rear.

If the track is on the deeper soft and loamy or sandy side, then the paddle tire is a great option, but if you ride harder pack tracks as well, you will need to change it to a different tire. Very, few AMA Pros ever run the paddle tire, so that should tell you something.

You need to have another look at the starting line if you think none of them are running scoops.

Anaheim 1 2025 starting line. Not a single paddle tire in sight...oops..

You off-road guys like the 82 front? Any better than m59?

Nobody runs a paddle tire. They are banned.

nooope, i was scrolling waiting to see if anyone called that lmao how are you gonna try to base your whole argument around the starting line at A1 2025, act like god's gift of Dunlop tires and not notice that AC, Ferrandis on Star, Eli with the #1 red plate ffs 🤦‍♂️ it doesn't get anymore boneheaded than that. Well, actually it probably does for that guy considering he thinks he's the smartest in the room and fails to look at the details.

I ran a new mx34 rear at the sumter national enduro this year, traction wise it was fine but durability wise I wasn't impressed. Sumter is mostly black sandy soil with a small amount of loose clay mixed in certain sections. The knobs on the tire we already rounded off a good bit by the end, I can't imagine it would hold up very well in a true offroad setting with roots/rocks and hard pack. I haven't tried the new AT82 rear but its on my list, luckily I still have a nice stash of AT81 rears which is my go to offroad tire for the rear. Front I like the mx33 or AT82.

I don't know if id try the AT82 rear, I only know one buddy that kinda likes it. I think its lacking side bite which looking at how spaced the edge knobs are makes sense. A lot of the GNCC pros are still running the AT81 rear I've noticed as well.

Id hold off judgement a bit on the MX34 wear, I have noticed sand mixed with roots is about the hardest on tires for whatever reason.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the look of the AT82, I said that on another forum the first time I ever saw it. I still want to give it a chance though. My new Yamaha came with a MX33 rear and after about 8hrs of offroad riding on mixed terrains I'm pleased with how its holding up. Of course like the old AT81 you can't buy the MX33 rear any more either.

I have been using the 34 rear down in Florida all winter, from sand with intermediate / hardbase to deep sand with roots, it has been holding up very good….the front 34 in same conditions holds up well but when the track base gets harder the tire lets go on turn entry/ mid corner kind of unexpectedly…. I have another set of wheels for when the track starts drying out and switch to the 53 front….

I never really though the AT81 had the best sidewall bite either tbh. I have an AT82 ready to go on once the snow melts here.

I bought my son a set last week when they did their flash sale on them. I've actually never ran them, when they first dropped the T35 or what ever they call the soft/int one a buddy of mine ran a new set at a HS and said the front was terrible. But, I have no experience with them. For the price point I should probably try them.

How are they holding up over a couple races/rides? Would you say on par with Dunlop?

They hold up good, I think the T35 doesn't last quite as long as a MX33 has for me but its honestly really hard for me to get a gauge on tire longevity between riding sand, dirt ,mud, rocks and roots at different races. If I rode the same terrain every time it would be a little easier to gauge.

The Talon front is the best Tusk front I've found, T35 struggled on flat corners compared to the Talon that can do that much better but also is good in sand and soft.

Rears the T35 is good but can chunk a bit in some conditions but not whole knobs or anything. Running a Crossbite rear now and its holding up even better and is a taller profile little skinnier than the T35 I am liking it a lot.

Interesting, when you responded I assumed you were running the T35's. I like the looks of the talon front, it looks like a cross between the M59 and mx33 IMO.

The Talon front is a normal front tire, the Talon rear is their hybrid gummy type tire.

The Crossbite rear is marketed as an all around off-road rear its slightly softer than the T35 but seems to be lasting maybe a little longer. I have a rockier race this weekend and I'm thinking it will be better than the T35 there.

In hare scrambles I've been running the RECON rear and t-35 front and I'm pretty happy with both. The RECON has great traction, even in sand, and as it wears I don't really see a dropoff in traction that I've experienced with other tires.

I still have a front 756RR on one of my Elsinores that looks good, but has to be hard as a brick. I haven't ridden this one for a few years because I built another one.
