He shot me a price end of January and said he would let me know availability, nothing since, sent him another message this evening.  Oh well!

He did mine the same day he got his hands on it. I actually bought a new take-off flywheel from MX Locker to send because I didn't want to be down, but as quick as he did it I wish I had just sent mine from my bike and saved that $120.

I would just call and ask. They told me they had new ones ready to ship if you didn't want to send yours.

Man id love to try all these boujee parts but for the most part i just love my bike stock other than finally convincing myself i need to do my suspension. On the ledge to go the kit route and be able to transfer to next bike vs have to redo stock stuff each time.

For sure, this  is above and beyond. I had the vortex from Twisted already, and I thought that transformed the bike, so getting the adding Throttle body, isn’t as much of a hit to the wallet because they can use my current vortex ecu.
I’ll see how it goes tomorrow. I really love the  in stock form, even the suspension. I really need to mellow/smooth out the power for my liking.

What the cost if you already have a vortex ECU?

Thats why im afraid to change much because I love the bark! I want a pipe, but everyone says all the aftermarkets tame the hit. I cut my teeth on 2 strokes and rode them till 02 when i went crf full time. If im mid moto and want a hair less, i switch to one of keefers other maps using a little TC and im happy. I very rarely switch from his original "race" (i think it was called that, whichever one he described as almost too powerful lol).. id love to ride tomacs bike! I want clamps, but don't want stiffer feeling. This is why i left my 21 crf and the yz was the perfect balance for me.

$1400 if you already have ecu from Twisted.

I hear you, I’m the opposite I was on 350s forever  I love the Yamaha chassis and suspension but the motor is too much for me. It wears me out so trying to make this thing more rideable for long motos.

Running clutch plate kit from KTM sx-f 450 kit will add more weight because those plates weight more and act like flywheel weight smoothening hit. If i remember correct just need to add one Yamaha metal plate to get right thickness for pack.

How did the vortex change the bike for you? How'd it feel? Also, are you saying it needs to be smoothed out more after putting on the vortex?

The Keefer map on the vortex is like 10-20% smoother than the smoothest Yamaha tuner map.

There is still a low end hit but it’s tamed even more.   The lower power, lower engine breaking map is fun and it really drops the engine breaking.

I agree with Kwood, the Twisted vortex with the mapping that has “gear specific map” I felt was 20% more rideable and linear than the Yamaha “Smooth” map.

I just got home from riding a turn track in the hills with the throttle body and Bundy flywheel. I’d say the feel is an extension of the “twisted vortex rideable map”, maybe another 10% easier to ride.

When I say easier to ride it’s very much like connected to your hand and free rolling, intuitive. Like no herky jerky, on off throttle in turns it’s calms and rolls with ease.  Didn’t feel heavy or lethargic which sometimes happens. I’ll try and get to Glen Helen where I can really open it up.

I’m happy I bought the kit and hopefully I can dial things in more and try more maps next week.  If you aren’t looking to buy the whole kit, I think just the vortex and flywheel would be a big change over stock.

Those are stock lugs. The billet kyb lugs actually are stiffer so many prefer stock.  Mine have billet but looking to go back to stock.IMG 1492.png?VersionId=MWX

I’m know it’s a little tough now but would have been curious to see what you thought of just the flywheel and just the injector.

Flywheel is likely next  on my list Smile

Yeah I think for the price it’s a great mod to tame the initial snap of the bottom end

I'm on the waiting list for the flywheel currently.  Also running the vortex from xpr with a full pro circuit system.   Hoping the flywheel gets rid of the on off throttle feel.   I started running the smooth power delivery map and it's substantially better.

I gotta read up on the throttle body.

Finding it hard to be smooth through corners with the throttle.

Are you waiting for him to get a new flywheel in to modify, or are you sending yours? I sent him a flywheel and he turned it around very quickly. I still haven’t got to ride with it because of all the storms we have been having.
