The thing I learned from this is that Deegan was training alone with Craig.
I always assumed all the Star guys were together, including Deegan and Craig and that Christian was just there to give Deegan some tutoring on whoops, line choice and perhaps to be an encouraging figure.
After these first few races I think Haiden made the right choice to go back to the Star way of doing things.

Dont think training with Craig was the correct decision. He has never been known to be the most in shape and often a head case. Remeber the light on his bike at Indy supercross in 2021. Seems like that may have been rubbing off on deegs
Deegan and his tramp stamp wearing father The Princess have really fucked this one up. Coming in running his yap about dominating and claiming he's Jett Lawrence's rival and then getting beat by a humble kid in his first year in the class. Cole Davies is everything the Deegan's are not. Humble, lowkey, quiet...and smooth (like Kiwis). Note to Deegan: stop over revving the bike FFS. Further note: Perhaps don't ask to train with Christian Craig and his insufferable wife next time.
It will be interesting to see if the Deegan's keep getting all these special concessions from Star now Haiden is proving to not be the supercross prodigy they were banking on. It's clear they've been running the show over there the last year or so. Time for Bobby to right the ship and put The Princess and Princess Jnr back in their place.
I'm not sure how you feel about the Deegan family. Since there's a break before the racing starts, could you expand a bit more for clarity?
Was he a trainer? I assumed he was more a riding coach addressing technique. Yeah if he was a trainer, it wouldn't make much sense for the reasons you said
