I hate to say this, but a LOT of those guys need to make this decision MUCH MUCH sooner than they do. So many of them try to string their careers out as long as possible, often to the detriment of their finances, and lose everything they had obtained when they were factory riders...(a certain rider from my state comes to mind).
Kudos to BHep for realizing it was time to move on to the next phase of his life. I'm just happy we got to see him ride for as long as he did.
Anyone remember his amateur suzuki with the white seat covered in blood?

I don't remember him getting hurt before he left. It was either 08' or 09' SX season he came out on that 450.....and was just flat out hauling ass !
If he could have kept it up on two wheels a little more...he really could of been a threat for any title. The guy was fast , smooth , aggressive and really fun to watch.
I am bummed he left the sport......But i'm happy for him that he moved on , and got out of the sport in one piece.
HAHA!!.....just thought of something. If he teaches gym class like the way he rode a bike ( crazy fast and aggressive !).........those kids aren't gonna know what hit em'! Bunch of 8th grade Marines walkin' around!
I can see broc coming back next year , sometimes its hard to let go, maybe for the nationals 2011.
One thing people have wrong is that he has not been racing local stuff to the best of my knowledge, thats just a rumor going around. He just rides for fun.
I've always been a fan of pretty much every Factory Suzuki rider (esp on 125/250's/lites) and Hepler was one of my favorites. He was just a quite assassin. You would of never known he was at the races unless he was a winner. He always just let his racing do his talking.
If they pay again he will play again.
Ask Travis Preston do you pay $100k annually for health insurance out of pocket and race to extend your career or do you just ride in your limits and invest the money you made from the seasons you ran up front and were paid to do so.
