James Stewart at GH today (no pics, yet)

My friend got some pics and I'll upload them in a few days once he gets home.


Anyways, James was there and going F A S T. His style is looks more mature than it was when he went 24/0, I think he'll sweep here on out from Unadilla.

James is a BEAST. A motivated James forget about it. You think he doesn't hear all the noise. Be afraid, be very afraid. Lol but seriously I am a huge RD fan and can't wait to see if he can measure up to James. Don't think he's ready just yet.

When you say not ready yet you must be talking about James. RD is as ready as he'll ever be. Usually the main thing a rookie is lacking when he gets to the 450 class is confidence but at this point RD has more confidence than I ever imagined he'd ever have.

Like I've said before I'm not predicting anything but the last thing I'd ever say is RD isn't quite ready. He's as ready to fight JS as he'll ever be. Against someone like James you don't spend years getting ready. If you can't fight with James right out of the gate you never will. James will simply beat your confidence down and you'll never have a chance if you don't take it to him when you first meet him. Who have you ever seen get beat by James then get ready and take it to him? Nobody!! Once he beats you he beats your confidence down and you never have a chance. Just like RC did to everyone , including James. Only one to ever take it to him was RC and that's because RC took it to him from day one and never let James build any confidence. If you ask me RC preached that same thing to RD in the off season and that's exactly why RD laid it all on the line to show James he came to play at A1.

I really think it will be huge for the sport if RD takes it to James. I also think if you're a James Stewart fan you should pray RD beats James because if he does there's a good chance we'll see James outdoors again so he can prove to everyone he's the fastest man on the planet again.. I think it will be a lot easier for James to sit out outdoors if he could just say that if he was out there he'd smoke everyone. If he gets beat the haters will be saying he's scared of RD and doesn't want to put in the work to beat him.

btw, Malcolm was there with a splint on his shoulder. Wonder if he's racing LL? Tongue edit: my friend talked to him and Malcolm said he's done for the season (not even racing nats) **Broken collarbone**

No secret I'm a JS fan but I don't know if he can just come off the couch and put in two 30 + 2's at a track as rough as Unadilla right from jump. I think RD will get him this weekend, but after that, watch out.

But how long has James been on the bike this time around?

Dungey is hauling the mail right now and I just think it's going to be tough for Stewart to run that pace on the roughest track on the circuit in his first race back. Especially coming off the type of injury that has been known to end careers. Once he gets his race pace back I don't think RD will be able to beat him. But we'll see.

Pretty crazy to come back on the track that he's had the worst "luck" with over the years. I don't see how he can go 1-1 with as little prep as he's had building endurance.

Not the roughest track. However, Dungey carries so much momentum i think it will be amazing to see with Stewart out there. As for the post above about James beating you down. You forgot Chad. Dude takes beatings and comes back the next week and wins.

I'll be really surprised if JS can come off this injury and immediately ride 2X 30+2 laps at RD's current pace/speed. I know he can find the speed for a few laps no question - maybe even half a race, he always has found the speed when needed. But JS7 has not competed against anyone like RD (in the outdoors) in the last 3-4 years (maybe since RC) - and that's no disrespect to Reed, completely different style of rider and he wasn't in the outdoors in 08. RD's prep, corner speed, consistency, training, precision, and endurance is incredible - and that is as a rookie. I have no doubt in JS7's ability to find the speed. I question the endurance, his set ups being perfect right out of the gate, and ability to keep it on two wheels at RD's pace until he gets everything back into sync. I know JS went 24-0 his last season he raced outdoors but he wasn't racing anyone with RD's caliber then either. I guess we will find out about all this the last few races of the year.

Personally, I'm looking forward to RV's return just as much. RV is (was) right up there with RD - and in many cases ahead of him.

i thought he said he would be on a 250 for star racing the last four. i know he was riding the 250 at LL's. guess not now though.........

I think James will come out swinging and run at or near the front 1st moto. I just dont think the fitness is there yet and 2nd moto he will fade to just inside the top 10

Its really hard to compare speeds of riders when they dont race each other. Like the GP guys vs USA that we always hear about. I guess we will find out next week on just how fast Dungey is going. I think Dungey is going faster than people give him credit for, not neccessarily the blazing speed of 06-07-08 bubba but aside from RC I dont think there is anyone in recent time that apears to be as prepared both mentally and physically. Dungey knows he can afford to sit in 2nd or 3rd for a while because his program has enabled him to ride at a pace and hold it where others start to trail off. Bubba has always (except for 08) had a fitness problem where he would depend on his blazing speed to get an insumountable lead then back it down a bit. This is why he couldnt beat RC, because his fitness failed him. So unless Bubba has been getting in tons of cycling and working out between cuts of "Bubbas World" I think he will fade late int he day. Im sure his speed is there. Either way, its a good thing for us to get to see him back in action.

I think it would take alot longer than a month for an elite athlete to compete against his peers (also elite althletes). Now if he was training for a month to compete against you or other people on this board then I think its plenty of time.

Especially an "elite athlete" with a personal trainer and private tracks...still practice is practice and racing is racing....be interesting to see how it plays out.

you seem to forget alessi had great speed and holeshots in jbs's last outdoor so to say he didnt have anyone of RD caliber racing him well is just not true....
