Edit: Posted that during the MXDN. Didn't realize you had he Trophee in there, too. They both got rough. I'd just love to see a National on a track just like one of those. Few jumps, all tough.
Awesome. Brutally rough tracks yet the bikes barely get 2ft of air. Good stuff, far different from the jump filled tracks of today. Bring back the old school tracks.
good point todder. i wonder how many white trash asswipe losers would quit coming to the national motocross races if the jumps were taken away? i mean how much can these losing piles of white shit can spend at a race? I say make it back to motocross no matter what the shirtless wifebeatin james stewart hating piles of shit say or do. we do not need them...do we?

I'll get the LTD Squire wagon ready and meet you there. I think RC would have handed it to them guys too.

Second the motion. Bring back REAL MX.
Thanks Bobby for this and all the vids.
Gotta say this one got me stoked.
25 yr old bikes haulin' the friggen mail.
The most fun I have is bottoming a suspension in a corner on Cygnus's old-school MX track. I'm with y'all. I also like how they used fans instead of hay bales...those Euro's are always so efficient.
You guys really like that track? That track looks freaking horrible- washboard straights, six inches of powder dust in the corners, and no watering?
I like the dude with the umbrella basically standing in the one corner. Now that's getting close to the action.
[quote="Moto East Mag":324m1s68]That was awesome. I hope db sees it.

Shit Bob, if you haven't realized it's the riders that like the big jumps too... don't blame it on the fans...all the riders love airing it out. Glen Helen is awesome... rough as shit, fastest first corner in racing, hugh jumps... don't ever say that isn't MX.

The point Mr. Myers (and me) are trying to make, quite tactfully I might add, is that the "racing" might actually be somewhat interesting if it wasn't just a 45-sec/lap high-speed freestyle contest where the guy that's nuts enough to quad-quad out of a 30' run up from a hairpin will beat the guys that out race his azz by 3 secs a lap on the rest of the track. Not saying that that jumping is not a skill. But motocross "racing" is, in our feeble old minds, anyway, a contest of speed and endurance, not jump-ability and insanity.

Well, I am 40, but my Dad still calls me "kid."
I was actually racing in 1983. I was on a RM80. I raced overseas at that time and the tracks were unbelievable (no grooming, no watering).
I think that track provided good racing, but it looked like no fun to ride on. I bet db hated it. At times in that vid he looked stiffer than I have ever seen him ride. I emailed him that vid so maybe he will give us some feedback.

Uh, it's motocross, not golf. MX is all conditions in any time of year. That's why the bike has a motor.
I think that maybe the best vid you have posted, I showed it to my nephew and he thought the track
looked boring, not enough jumps. I told him that is a real MX track, not the perfectly groomed jump filled crap of today.
I guess it show that I am old. I miss real MX tracks, it could have used some water though.
....Bailey & Glover with the tunes cranked & air-banding the new Men at Work album while waiting at the gas station (29:00m) Hilarious!!
The 250 track was brutal, and check out the different lines of Bailey & Barnett on that ugly uphill (1:08).
The sound of all those works 2-strokes on the track together makes it worth watching.
