Screamed and scared the dog on the overtake of Kenny and was frozen in shock when Sexton went down. I was afraid I would never see it happen for Malcom and I’m so glad I have. What a win! Congratulations.

What I loved about this win for him is that it truly passed the “eye test” - he was the fastest rider on the track and he was clearly coming for Chase. Awesome ride - I hope we see him stay in this mix!

Fellers...I woke up in a really good mood this morning...then I remembered why...my Mookie Fever flared up big time last night. I'm over the moon.☺️
Chase lost half of his lead with the lappers in the two laps before he went down in the whoops.
That would also contribute to Sexton losing focus but Malcolm was fastest last night and the pass would have happened either way.
Are you suggesting that Stewarts racecraft is better than Sextons?
Yep - Chase was losing a lot of time to Mookie in the whoops. Chase was lucky when Mookie pressured him and he went down....That Mookie didnt run over his hand/wrist. That was close a call.
Last night...it was.
Based on how everything else went yesterday, I’m surprised Sexton didn’t take Malcolm down with him. And then there was the tough block that almost did it too. Malcolm owned that track when a lot of others were struggling.

I was a little bummed at about the 5 min or so to go mark, where he'd marched his way through to 2nd, and was cutting the lead to Sexton before it stabilized at about 3 seconds. It looked like he'd ran out of puff - was still trying but Sexton had matched him, stalled his run and forced Malc to settle. Then it looks like a couple lappers get in Chase's way just enough to give Malcolm another sniff at it, and away he went!
Amazing win. Reminded me of his run to catch Barcia at Salt Lake 2022 after Barcia punted him. The whole crowd was cheering Mook to catch him and repay the favour, getting louder and louder as he got closer.
This trumps that, however!
When Chase was going down I thought for sure he was gonna take Mookie out too, so glad he didn't. His closing speed in the whoops was incredible.
Maybe I was overly tired or I’m getting very soft in my old age, but I shed a tear or 2. Thankfully, I was watching the race alone!😊
