Downloaded Bluesky to check it out, mostly for hockey related stuff.
The most refreshing part is that replies under popular posts are real, not porn bots, and where my X "For You" page is completely inundated by this weird 51st state BS, Bluesky has none of that, at least from what I see. Overall, it seems much less political and less hostile as a result.
Having said that, I still find myself using X a lot more than Bluesky, mostly because a lot of the accounts i follow and enjoy on X aren't on the alternative

i have been on twitter since 09. curating my feed with interests & follows was going great. then the for you tab came along and jesus, it is a shitshow. full of hate and violence now, it's like a train wreck i can't look away from. and its not only my personal acct with my algorithms to blame, even work accts that are never used have the same crap in the for you tab. elon ruined a really good thing.
bluesky is a decent alternative but it is a left echo chamber for sure. it reminds me of those few episodes of walking dead series where the group finds the nice people who turn out to be cannibals, it has that creepy vibe to it. haha. but yea, fuck elon. he is a sad, goddamn child desperate for validation.

Not speaking my perception or opinion on it, I don't even have an account on there. Talking about from a business standpoint, lower engagement, lower number of users, basically all the metrics a social media platform would monitor.

It depends on how you want to look at it.. yes when he aquired it the left melted down and left leaning companies stopped advertising on it, and also left leaning individuals with TDS stopped using it, and thats fine. but he has also worked to remove the bots on the platform, saving free speech, and implementing community notes which seems to be the best fact checking service offered on any information sharing app as admitted by zuckerberg
revenue has been roughly cut in half, while costs are 25% of what they used to be and from what i've seen reported profit as a % has roughly doubled
its also the #1 news app in the app store.
and of course the #1 reason he bought it - he saved free speech while exposing gov't corruption and crackdowns on free speech.
its trajectory is improving as investor and advertiser interest are surging
