While I don't know how many people were on those planes this feels like a rather shortsighted deal in the long run as one has to imagine this will drive our other trading partners to start looking outside of the US for more stable leadership to deal with. That and you'd have to be crazy to think the Columbian president wouldn't throw a giant, "fuck  America", card should an opportunity present itself in the future.

Can we just be honest though.... there isn't a single thing that Trump is going to do over the next 4 years that you are going to agree with.

I don't think it's too far out of the realm of possibility that turning our allies against us is actually part of the plan.

Trump has shown a great reverence for China and Russia's leaders and he can't just establish a buddy-buddy relationship with them (a former reality star like Trump would know this is terrible optics). He has to first isolate America by turning our allies against us so when when he does reach out to cozy up to China and Russia he can then point the finger at our "old allies" for consolidating without America. Then, Russia and China can do what ever they want to us because we'll have no allies left and Trump clearly wants to impress them (the real most powerful men in the world) the most.

It's the same pattern he's done for nearly everything else; make up a problem, make the problem "real" so he can justify "fixing it", "fix" the problem, then get patted on the back.
