Good to see BMW back it it this year.

I know they had some issues early, but glad they're back.

Hate seeing the 10 car 2 laps down.

Been a fan of Wayne Taylor since way back when he was fielding/driving his own car, with a big block chevy, up against the factory Audi's.

The Porsche's, though they've had teething issues, are wicked cool looking.

As is the 01 Cadillac.

#60 Acura.

Deserved  !!!

Engel in the Westertech Benz dropped the hammer in GTDpro after Hawksworth plowed into the back of that LMP car.

Great 3 car battle until then.

Bring on Sebring.

I miss crazy Hillbilly and his posts on these days. That man loved this event and most any kinds of ICE racing.  I don’t remember which year his posts inspired me to stay up all night Saturday night watching it.  It was rain shortened on Sunday at the end, I think, and I freaked out. Then the Warden laid down the law, “You can’t claim anymore types of racing to say it’s your top priority to watch and not do anything else”.

Watched until network shut off at 8pm last night

Watched SX.

Just now catching up with the 10pm to midnight segment.

Bourdais just limped back to the pits.

Hate to see the 10 car 14laps down.

With all the fluff, and commercials,  I'll probably be fast forwarded back up to live by mid morning.

Always a great race.

Been to a few of them, along with Sebring.

Nothing like sitting in the stands at night right where they leave the oval, brake rotors glowing, scrubbing speed for that tricky turn 1-2 section.

As if the BOP wasn't enough, IMSA monitors the car's power during the race.

Now we're seeing the #6 Porsche continually penalized for using too much power and torque.

🤔🤨

Hope they never institute that crap in MX/SX.

Penalized for using too much power and torque ? Yeah I’m out Dizzy  This post reminded me how much  I miss Kevin Kmc440 race car posts. We text occasionally he’s still racing. I asked why he bailed, he said he got clipped for something stupid, sent an email to rejoin with no reply and then said fuck this place he’s out with no regrets

Great battle for the lead in LMP2, just around sunrise.

KMC440 always added good info about car races. Especially for those of us who like to follow the races without having a deep understanding of the sport.

I'm 20hrs into the broadcast.

Both GTD classes racing incredibly hard for the lead !!!

Good stuff.

Hate to see the Vette's out of the battle.

As well as the Pfaff team.

When I lived in Michigan the 24 was always my harbinger of spring. I always watched chunks of it because when the Rolex comes around you know that there is no stopping spring. There could be 3 feet of snow outside my door, but I was still smiling and feeling the warmth. Nowadays I work less than a mile as the crow flies from the track and will go to the Roar before the 24 or get the tickets for late night Saturday. One of the cool local events. Lots of racing in town in the next month and a half.

Y'all notice that they waved the checkers a lap early?

It was the ROLEX 23:58. Woohoo

Been going to the 24hr race for as long as I can remember. This year was happy to see the GTP cars. Took my son in law to his first Rolex 24hr race. He was like a kid at Disney World. 2024 24hrs-1

Yeah, it was like IMSA Portland 1989. I was on the TWR Jaguar team and they threw the checkered a lap early.

Everyone knew it was early and kept racing. The Nissan passed us on that lap and took the 'second' checkered flag as the winner, but IMSA gave the win to us because 'when the checkered is shown, the race is over'

Nissan protested but they didn't budge on it.

The next year someone handed out little checkered flags to all the spectators and had them wave them when the white flag came out.

Too funny!

I'm in this shot Wink

This is Wayne Taylor Racing's first Daytona 24 as his own team after he split with Bill Riley

This was when I was with TWR Jaguar when we finished 1-2 in 1990. I was the fueler on the winning car. Great memories!

Glad both of his sons stuck with road racing, and didn't get sucked into the nascar hellhole.

Wish the Corvette drive would have worked out better for Jordan.

And I seriously wish Albuquerque would have shown a bit more patience last year at the petit lemans.

He should have known derani was more than willing to drive like a complete idiot.

Which he did.

Have been going to the race at Watkins Glen for awhile now. We love this style of racing, the variety of cars, the approachability of the crews and drivers, the atmosphere. Daytona and Sebring are on our bucket list.

Loved the TWR Jaguars, one of my favorite WSC cars. I really liked the purple / yellow Silk Cut livery on those cars. Bad ass for sure.

LFG!  Great race this 2025 edition.  Who else is watching?  This is when I miss Hillbilly and his East TN input around here.

The driver rosters for this edition is absolutely nuts. I'll slide back over after SX for a bit.

Very surprised at the amount of top ranked drivers in the lmp2 class.

Great racing in that class as well.

Late race heart break for the 99 team.

No surprise the Penske rout of GTP.

At least the 60 acura got in there to break up the 1-2 at the end.

The 48 BMW in GTpro (farfus) fucked up a damn good race with his chicken shit, lap down, blocking bullshit.

Great drive by the 13 Corvette in gtd.

Was competitive all race long.

The 48 should've been given a 5min penalty, apparently the team was positioning with a stop or two to do exactly what they did. The Penske pit box golf clap at the finish was an unemotional, pathetic show of corporate racing at it's worst.

I watched just about the entire race.... Only missed about 3=4 hours, had to go to sleep. I usually go to this race, but didn't make it this year. If you ever get a chance to come down, hit me up.
