Motocross is TWO motos. BOTH motos count towards the day's overall. Same rules for everyone. He was 10th best that day. This isn't tee ball where everyone gets a 'participation' award. Points are awarded in TWO motos and the person with the most points in BOTH motos wins. How hard is that for you Euros to understand?

Why thank you, I did not know.

Seriously though, you honestly don't think that it's possible that the 25th in that second moto was sort of a fluke? Obviously everyone has a bad moto every now and then, it seems rather dimwitted to base a riders ability on the odd couple of bad moto performances every now and then. He was 10th OA that day, I made no argument of that. I'm just casually informing you that it was a lot due to the fact that he had a straight out crappy moto number 2, and unless that happens again he should be good for a solid top5 I reckon. I'm sure you would find that his batting average is a little bit better than what is shown through those two motos from last year. Take a couple of crappy swings and build your statistics upon that and you will make even Babe Ruth look like a scrub, that's what I'm saying.
IF, IF, IF, IF, IF, IF. I don't live in the land of IF. I live in the land of IS. IF he had gotten the holeshot and didn't fall, and IF he'd have won both motos, I'd probably guess he'd do better than the back half of the top-10. But he DIDN'T holeshot, and he DID fall, and he DIDN'T win both motos. Just going by what actually happened, not what might have happened if he didn't get caught in the first turn. Lots of other guys got through the first turn fine in the second moto, what would the overall look like had Reed gone down? We'll never know. Just like we'll never know what would have happened had CD not gone down. Past results are the best harbinger of future results. We don't know what someone's capable of until they DO it.

Yes, he had a bad moto, I"m not saying he didn't. Bad motos are part of this sport, as are crashes. Combined with what he showed last year, and the new talent that's at the front of the field this year, beating guys who beat him last year, I stand by my back half of top-10 prediction..

If you don't think Desalle is a favorite to hit the podium you're not too bright. He would of been on the podium last year at washougal if it wasn't for a first turn issue in moto 2 last year. Last year he was on Ryan Clarks privateer honda with his own suspension. This year he'll be full factory. Expect him to battle at the front.

GP's vs ama aside Clement hauls ass and has more desire then 90% of the ama and GP guys..
Hey Bright guy! The field was a little thinner at washougal.
Why do you have to bag on the ama guys?

Good to see guys who have half a brain can see Desalle potentially do good in your series.
Washougal last year was up and down but, a 3rd place on a STOCK bike, isn't too shabby.
(yes it rlly was stock, his motor was torn apart after the race.)

On a factory bike, he should be good of the gate and able to go top 5.

It will be a good change of pace for him, his world championship isn't coming this year, so it's good to see a rider have some fun on both sides of the pond.

It's not bagging on AMA guys it's what we call the truth. Clement also has more desire than 90% of the GP guys as well.. All I'm saying is Clament is 90% desire and 10 % skill.. I wish there were more like him.. That's all i'm saying.

I heard in an interview of CR that Ramons Teka suzuki works bike was like 10 lbs lighter then Chads Makita suzuki. They get away with allot more works parts in the GPs because of the ama's production rule.

AMA has more horsepower due to fuel and sound regulations.
GL8 mentioned this at Glen Helen.

I've heard the same thing. When Marc De Reuver came over and road a factory Honda bike at Southwick he said the bike was yanking his arms off from the HP it had compared to his GP factory Honda. He said the difference was night and day.

Hey D Dunes i was at the wick when De Reuver raced, got his smith roll offs at his rig alot people did nt know who he was. He said the us bikes are alot louder and he took a little bit of time to get used to the noise. Also said Bubbles was an animal I think De Reuver got a 3rd in the 1st moto and dnf crash in moto 2 trying to keep the pace. Real cool dude. I still remember him saying That Stewart Guy is an alien from another plan et! Bubbles and RV killed that day

washougal tends to lend itself towards a less powerful bike seeing its slick. i think his riding style complemented that track and dont see the privateer bike being a disadvantage there, its more about smooth throttle control. barcia is a prime example of this where he did horrible there last year. id say top five worst case if he doesnt crash or have some altercation

I remember it well. DeReuver was 2nd fastest in practice but he was still more than 2 sec slower then JS. 3rd in practice was Shorty who was like 4 seconds slower than JS.. Every race was kind of like that in 08. JS was for sure from a different planet that year.

I for sure know what you mean. It's for sure a throttle control track for the most part but there are a few sections horsepower is essential. The start would be one place and if Clement had a factory bike he may have been able to get in front of the first turn pile up. And of course horsepower hill likes all the horsepower you can throw at it.

BTW Sharkey how's Jenny's boyfriend doing from the crash last week. Is he doing better?

Some idiot hit him that second heat and bent his steering but hey, he got third with a stock bike that was a little humiliation for all the guys behind him but what the heck.

14Aug I will be back and will laugh my ass of with the podium spot of Clement and with the idiot comments that say that he would never be in the top ten ...
