And if it was a bike malfunction how did it magically stop and not keep the throttle stuck?

Unpopular opinion.... Taddy has always been kind of a douche to other riders.

It looked to me like that right hand/wrist/forearm all go in a downward motion just before the bike launches. Looks like maybe he was used to rev'ving when up with clutch pulling in like you go when you are pissed at someone. Only thing is they ain't no clutch and the bitch don't make noise anyway.

Just my thoughts, I don't know the dude at all or his attitude but if definitely looked like he twisted that throttle to me!!

You see him lean forward right before then jerk back. I think he was trying to spin the bike around, by giving it full throttle to try and spin the back tire.  Instead of the tire spinning out, it hooked up and hit the guy. I think it was 100% his fault and not the bike.

That version makes sense as well. His throttle action makes it NOT the bikes fault in my opinion.

That’s exactly my first thought.

Clearly a rider input error.  Has he not seen the video?

Did he say which incident he was talking about? I guess the apologies are for Tim Apolle.

Taddy has been the face of the company for Enduro for over a year now, it's happening right as they're launching their road legal enduro Varg EX, complete disaster for Stark.

Thing is, he has been super patient, signed up over one year ago, then learned they had been sacked from FIM Superenduro changing rules 24 hours before round 1. In effect he has been paid for one year to develop the bike along Eddie Karlsson, and race a few races.

This year they finally got into FIM Superenduro and the first couple of rounds have been a disaster for him, failed to finish round 1, bailed from round 2 before the races, there must be more than this couple of incidents in Germany.

Meanwhile his teammate Karlsson is 5th in the world championship with a race podium to his name (plus wins in Sweden, Estonia, podium at Red Bull Los Andes...).

It would be interesting to hear more from Taddy (and Eddie).

Those still photos do look like he was twisting the throttle intentionally. I would think that if he's been riding it for a year now, he wouldn't forget he wasn't able to rev it with the clutch in like a gas bike. He is such a talented rider.   There has to be more to this than those 2 examples.  That looked way to intentional to be a total accident or bike failure. Perhaps he meant to pop the front wheel up and turn, but it responded a bit too well?

I would love to hear an explanation . Those 2 videos alone shouldn't be enough of a reason to want to terminate a contract. I would think that a rider of that level has had to overcome a lot of stuff to get where he is now. And one or 2 slight glitches ( if that's what they were) doesn't seem like enough to bail. There has got to be more behind this. I  don't really know Taddy or how he is, so maybe those 2 things alone would be all it took to quit.  I can understand the concern of a failing throttle, but it sounds like they have it pretty safe with the failsafe's built in.  Unless it was modified for some reason to not have those failsafe's in place?

I don't think that its as bad for Stark now at this point as it might have been a year or more ago when the bikes were not in the hands of many average people.  Its not a great look for Stark. To me it makes me question the riders reasons to quit more than I question if the Varg would be a good bike for me. If it turned out that they were having multiple issues with unintended acceleration and had been unable to fix it, that might get me worried about riding one. But I would also think that if it was a production part that was failing over and over , that there would have been a recall, and that it wouldn't only be Taddy's bike that had the problems. But that is speculation.

It could be as simple as Taddy just never really gelling with the way electric power feels. Like I have said many times, some people can just ride some bikes better. Some guys can go faster and be more comfortable on a 2 stroke than a 4 stroke. I imagine that the longer a rider has been on a gas bike, the harder it might be for some people. I normally take a while to get used to a new bike. But I felt very comfortable on a Varg right away. I did find myself grabbing for a clutch here and there as a reflex though. I really hope that Taddy and Stark are able to put out some sort of info that lets us know why he left.

I had a feeling it was the last time we would se Taddy on a Stark when they said he just left and went home from that last race.

Hell yeah that was really really odd, like "hey guys, I don't really feel like racing, gonna head back to the hotel and watch some Netflix, cheers".

It was probably more like

What if Stark fired him because of the incident?

I was reading some comments on Facebook, and they were saying that Taddy got into a fight with the other rider after that.  If it was the bikes fault, I feel like he would have been  upset with Stark and not the other rider.  Is there any video from in the pits after of the fight or any interactions between Taddy and his Stark people? Was there a fight? Maybe Taddy would just fight and not try and apologize and explain it was a mistake.

Just another angle of looking at it.

Maybe this is a crazy take, but if my 80hp electric bike without a clutch just went full-throttle without my input, you want to know what I'm NOT going to do?

Just calmly throw my leg back over it and ride off....on an endurocross track, nonetheless lol

Maybe you didn't. Because he gets back on the bike and rides off. Maybe you watched the wrong one?

Taddy clearly throttled it. Watch his right wrist.

I was like "Is this MFer blind?  Did he not see Taddy just drop his right wrist before the bike loops into Apolle?"

🤣

I'd bet a lot of money he's full of shit.

Taddy has always been hard to deal with and quick to blame anyone but himself his entire career.

Looks to me like the Throttle by wire is working incorrectly, he was using the throttle when he went to jump but the throttle obviously gave him a lot more power than he was wanting and inputting. Same with the video where he ran into the rider, he may have grabbed the throttle but again it gave him way more power than he wanted.

An erratic throttle would make me want to stop riding the bike as well. You can say he is an ass but I doubt he wants to launch straight up and land on his ankle or injure another rider on purpose.

That's my point though, if it's malfunctioning that bad, you getting back on and riding an endurocross track?

Honestly watching the second video Taddy comes to an odd stop in the rocks like the bike just quit, he then rolls out probably like WTF, grabs the throttle and it launches.  The other rider is pissed (understandably) comes in to push him again and Taddy leans forward and says something to him and the guy backs off, like Taddy said the bike malfunctioned.

Doesn't seem out of the question I suppose.
