You heard it here first. In my inner circles I’ve been expecting a Jett slump but here’s my hot take out in the wild.
- everybody trained to gain a second over the offseason.
- Lawrence bros were busy racing around the world instead of training to get faster.
- Jett is under a tremendous amount of public and racer pressure.
- new Honda with not much seat time.
Im guessing the top 3ish guys have caught up on speed, Jett being under public pressure, now he’s under racing pressure. On top of that, he’s got a new bike that they hardly had time on.
He might bring it around by the end of the season but I expect a slump early on.

Slump. 🙄
It's one race...
I'll start this by saying... I'm not a Jett fanboy. But I think he truly is on a different level and expect him to win in San Diego. I think all your points are valid for any other rider but... he's just different.
Considering his career so far, I would consider one race to be a slump lol.
Last year after round 4 he was 4th in points with a single podium. Just saying.

Well put Mav.
Jett will bounce back...he said it himself, the only way now is up.
Did Jett say that when there's still another 10 worse positions he can finish?...
Dude it’s one race, and it’s A1 at that, one race on top of it, these threads are getting ridiculous people lol. Make it stop. Is it Saturday again yet??!!
Thank you
I can’t wait to come back to this thread after Saturday (and I’m no Jett fanboy by any means)
Why burn the overtime trying to get the bike ready before A1 when there is so much training, testing, riding, and racing to do throughout the year. The long game wins titles.
Interesting you "predicted" the slump after a bad race. Did you post this prediction from your "inner circles" prior to A1?
My wife told me I shouldn't buy the season pass to "The Hunter Brothers Bandwagon World Tour" but, oh no... I just wouldn't listen 🙎♂️🙎♂️🙎♂️
You spelled sophomore wrong.
I have a hard time believing this is related to lack of work/lack of training, I could be wrong as they had a wiggly off season but I kind of agree with Weege when he says the new ECU’s, New Race Gas (this surprised me), new Showa components, and a new bike are all coming together to create a perfect storm that even the Lawrence brothers haven’t found shelter from. The question now is how long does this seriously affect their racing, because other than qualifying Jett really didn’t seem like Jett all Saturday.
What a prediction!
Oh wait!!
I hear a lot of bike talk but reality is Hunter was running the exact same pace as Cooper until he went down. They both where about a second/lap out for a good part of it.
I guess because the brothers didn't lay waste to the world it has to be the bike. Was a very Hunter like performance until it wasn't. Things went south for Jeff when he made contact with Ando.
Normally folks with set up problems do not qualify well and turn competitive laps.
Pit Row
5.9% of the season in the books... Smash the panic button!
I’m gonna be honest I have no explanation for that qualifying time, the fact he threw down something that competitive without complete trust in his bike is insane, but even before the contact with Ando he looked tentative in the heat race. Yes it’s unfair to expect them to lay waste every single race but this wasn’t just you’re regular weird ride, this was an Elito Mac level weird ride which I don’t think we’ve ever seen from Jett. I agree Hunter was somewhat competitive on the opening laps but it really seemed to fall apart at around 5 minutes into the race and he looked tentative aswell. The fact they had an ‘off-night’ on the same night shows there’s at least somethin going on.
This will all be put to rest sooner than later. I’m just glad he’s in the hole right now to make the series tighter.
I’m a fan but don’t like domination, I appreciate the Tomac resurgence and Sexton’s fine tuning and everyone else that can win on their night.
Can’t wait for Saturday!
I think these guys (doubly so Jett) are so good, they can get amazing single lap times on anything.
Fly's in the ointment...

I think he's already worried about Deegan #bedbugs
Jett’s fragile ego and hatred for the American fan base is what has been killing his performance. It’s clear he can’t take the fact that he is no longer the most popular rider in the pits. Like I said fragile ego…. Can’t wait to boo him from the stands at A2.
Better than bugs in your rug.
I can't even tell anymore around here but this is straight trolling right?
The track changed a lot between the heats and the main. Remember when James was changing flywheels between sessions?
And Jett was the only rider going 2 seconds slower.
It’s not a sophomore slump confirmed but there is authentic cause for concern. Weirdo ride
He got the 8th fastest lap in the main. 1.7 off fastest.

A2 2nd all 3 mains
