Personally, I don't think they should include the sitting president in the poll.

They have been doing it this way since 1982, every 8 year, though..

GW Bush was 23rd in 2002 and has dropped to 39th this time, so the same can happen to Obama.

Ask anyone in academia and they will tell you that you need AT LEAST five to seven years to pass before evaluating a president.

7/9/2010 10:40am
What makes you say that? His poll numbers?

He could, if he would just start acting more like a Democrat and less like a republican.

Id prefer he didnt act like either, and more like a true conservative.

Old Fart you crack me up.
I respect your right to your opinion.
I suppose that his approval numbers are falling because people are racist right.
I guess the reason so many people disagree with what he is doing is because we just dont understand what is good for us right.
I know I know all the bad economic numbers are all Bush's fault. He left this country in such a mess that it going to take the anionted one to get us out of it.
Raising taxes during a severe economic downturn will surely stimulate it.
Raising capital gains taxes will surely entice more investors to spend more money.
Cap and trade will surely stimulate economic growth by raising energy prices.
I know that when gas went to 4.00 a gallon it sure made me want to go out and spend some more money.
I am sure that small business owners are just waiting for the tax increases and new health care regulations to take affect so that they can go out and hire more people.

Obama hasn't raised any taxes yet, has he? And anyway, how exactly did those Bush tax cuts stimulate the economy? Show me the jobs!

And how do you square the dearth of jobs right now with those low capital gains taxes
The hedge fund managers who are raking it in and only paying 15% on their capital gains don't create jobs or stimulate anything beyond their own wallets.

As far as Obama's poll numbers go, if I was asked, I'd say I disapproved of him because he isn't liberal enough. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one with that opinion who is reflected in those falling poll numbers.

I gotta say Dave nailed it. Ronald Regan was not well liked when he was in office. Pulled a lot of boners. Today he is praised. Hell Jimmy Carter is praised - I do think more so for his humanitarian work though.

So, some of you wish you had the guy who got his marching orders from his wife's astrologist back running the country?

Wonderful.

Reagan was a bad actor. Period. You just fell for his act., that's all.

You must have a phenomenal gift of foresight that I'm not blessed with because as of now, Obama's policies have done next to nothing. Stim. plan? Looks like it's done nothing it was intended to do except pad the porkbarrelers.

What has he actually got done, barring the partisan BS of course?

I guess I was wrong about the USSR mounting a serious military offensive in the region at that time. I guess if the cold was was over by then they wouldn't be doing anything like that.

He gave all the folks that sent this economy into the shitter jobs and bonuses.

He has done a lot but unfortunately it's the opposite of what's good for America.

Academia tend to be a bunch of brainwashed liberals. They make lists all day because they don't have anything productive to offer.

Seriously...so they sit around and read about presidents all day...big deal.

The Cold War was over in the early '80s.

Ronald Reagan is/was responsible for the Taliban.

Bush caused Katrina.

Newsweek and Time are the keepers of the facts.

Dan Rather is smarter than all of Mankind and he's a Real Marine.

Heir Olbermann is a genius.

This, my friends, is what we call "The Liberal Spin on Truth & History".

He is the only president I had voted for, and never regretted my choice.

The man had dignity.

Never was ashamed of him being our leader, fact I was proud of him, unlike all that followed him since.

We need a leader like Reagan now more than ever.

God has blessed him.

After spending a day having the thankless job of being President it is probably therapeutic to do some kind of hard physical work.
