Hey I’m new here did a build last year with David Tremblay with 2005 RMZ Frame 1988 LT500R engine now I want to do a newer frame here’s some pics and I got another LT500R engine

looks great! that is some pretty amazing attention to detail. how's it ride? got any vids of it running? i was around 10 when these first came out. even though i'm a 2-wheel guy at heart, always wanted one. finally got one back in 2010
Awesome build! I thought that it was impossible to fit LT500R engine to a dirt bike frame but obviously you made that happen!
Wow what a bold a$$ bike build.
Would love to hear it rip
I as well am surprised the engine fit so well. You'd think that since it was destined for a quad packaging concerns wouldn't be as critical to the factory. Also it is counterbalanced since all quad engines must be or the vibration is outrageous. Were you able to remove the counterbalancer for more horsepower since it was going in a bike? Or maybe just leave it in to keep vibration at a minimum?
What does the engine weigh? Again with quads the emphasis isn't always on making the engine as light as possible unlike bikes. Is it much more than a CR or KX? Was the LT500 engine left over from the abandoned development of the RM500 in the early '80s?
What is done to the engines? Stock the LT500 came in a mild state of tune especially in 1987. It took not much money or effort back in the day to coax 10 or even 15 more horsepower from the engines to bring them to a true Open class level of power. On the other hand it is easier to get more horsepower when a 2-stroke engine is in a quad, street bike, snowmobile or kart since there is so much more you can do with pipe design on those.
This is awesome!

What a clean build you gonna dyno it?
I remember that this engine was originally designed for some sort of Japanese domestic dual sport, not sure if there was any production of this bike. I think the OP should at least post a video of this bike running/riding before we ask for a dyno.
