Global news is stable. You regionals with your regional territory squabbles are taking up a lot of time and are distracting.

How's the racetime forum coming along?

I of course can't answer for TFS, but imo it is going pretty damn well. A lot of good information can be found there and often before it is found anywhere else.

10 posts a day is going well? I've only been there a couple times, and there is hardly anyone posting. Maybe it's quality vs. quanitity? I was serious when I was asking how his forum was going.

Karma?

He used to bust on mxinsiders.com all the time for having no forum activity compared to Mototalk. Now, at any given time, racetime.com will have about 15 people viewing the site while mototalk has 200. I don't think he'll talk bad about mxinsiders.com anymore.

I agree, though, that his site has information you won't find anywhere else. He was the only one reporting that Youthstream pretty much had promoting the Nationals in the bag and the NPG was getting kicked to the curb.

Which was exactly backwards in the end.

Actually not. The NPG was last the whole time. They lost the bid. DMG won it. They are free to make a deal with DMG.

I reported the facts accurately because I knew the truth, and someone didn't want you to have it. The AMA was doing this to get control of the series away from the NPG. By using DMG, they got a strong partner to hand racing over to that the NPG wasn't.

The YS vs NPG stuff was a sideshow.

No one else dared tell the real story. <img class= " title="Smile">

So shoot me, and welcome to the global era and the era of the deal. No more entitlements.

The NPG might be better off as organizers for DMG, so they don't have to try and do the things they are bad at or never had a chance to control - thanks to the old AMA.

Darthy-

Traffic of RT, MT and MD is about the same. Insiders was a bomb and I was busting regis' balls.

MT shows recent traffic differently and is counting the same people over and over. I knew that back in the day but of course didn't tell you. hehe

All the forums are fun but the traffic is too low. We all can make better sites and not worry about each other so much.

I've come to learn over the last few days that the DMG deal may not have been as secret as some think
3/9/2008 2:51pm Edited Date/Time 4/16/2016 6:20pm
As I understand it, the game's not over. Have any of you seen any press release stating that "______ is pleased to (takeover|continue) the management contract for AMA Pro (|DMG) Motocross thru 20__?". Huh? Anyone? Bueller?

Nothing about MX beyond this season is settled, awarded, delivered, wrapped or packaged. DMG has simply taken over the RFP process from AMA Pro. Butt kissing's still open as far as I can tell.

Well, Steve, you said YS was ahead to take it and that NPG would be out on its ass. If they continue with DMG, then they wouldn't be any more out than they were working under the AMA, and they will have someone better to work with.

There are many ways to describe any outcome, and people always tailor it to disregard their past predictions and make it seem like this was the way they called it all along.

TFS is auditoning for a job with the GOP for the upcoming election season. His spinning talents are right on par with the best of them.

FTE-It's you that's doing the spinning. Go and find something I wrote that says what you said I said.

You twisted the message. I said all along this was really AMA vs NPG, not YS vs NPG. That was a fact. If the NPG got back in, they made their own deal with DMG. Deal's a deal. Why should we care? It looks like the DMG deal solved a lot of problems at once.

Steve, motocross was an afterthought in all this; it was how do we get rid of all our racing properties, the principal one of which was roadracing.

I'm not spinning a thing, and I'm not going to post private communications to prove what you said. I like you and consider you a friend, but you're kidding yourself and are the only one buying it.

From what I know, FTE is correct in that MX was a secondary consideration, the "bastard child" so to speak in all of this

Well, one thing is for sure. People got what they wanted. They wanted MX to be more like NASCAR...

One thing is for sure...if YS won the contract we would never hear the end of it.
