Traveling to Rome on vacation - need a rental motocross bike

Hello

I am going to Rome from Canada to meet my wife's family in Rome italy.

I want to ride a motocross track across the pond

I am going to be flying in to Rome at the end of next summer from Canada  and I would like to ride when I am visiting Rome.

Does anyone know where I can rent a motocross bike and gear?

Would I have to bring my own gear with me ?

I race in canada
My current bike is. 2020 yz450
Skill level: intermediate

If I could find a place that would meet me at the track with the bike so I don't have to sort out a truck to bring it to and from the track . This would be the best option for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Braden

If no one can help you here, you might have more luck signing up to mxbars as that's an Italian forum

There is a lot of beautiful tracks in italy ! Close to Milan i know tracks which are renting 2022/2023 bikes (you can check Dorno track or Ottobiano track) but i've never ride close to Rome so i can't tell for this region.

Let's wait a italian guy will chime in

Ottobiano and Dorno are awesome and rent bikes/gear out (I think mainly Hondas). I was just there a couple weeks ago. Long drive from Rome though. I would try and convince the wife to make a trip to Milan and go see those two tracks. They're open most days too.

Well, if you’re around Rome i should defently go to Mallagrotta MX track wich is home base of DiCarli GasGas Factory team. Big chance you see one off the GP guys doing some laps there during the week. ( could ask if you’re could spin a few laps on Prado”s bike haha)

For bike rent I think you’re a bit to “south” into the country, where most tracks and bike rent takes place in the north. Hopefully someone here pops up and can help you’re more.

Otherwise Dorno or Ottobiano but that’s close to a 6h drive from Rome

THREAD REVIVAL!

How did this go for you?  Any feedback from the trip?

I am looking at either MX bike rental or an enduro guided tour in March/ April of 2025.  It will hopefully be me and my 16 year old son.  I have been looking at crcadventures, I will have to look at the minimum age though.

I'd also love to get this thread going again, we are booked for 14 days in italy for the last 2 weeks of April and would love to find an mx bike to rent to spin some laps.

Not sure about Rome, but 30 miles south of Milan you have Dorno and Ottobiano. The only tracks I know of in Northern Italy that offer rentals. Both amazing tracks.

Are there any insurance or license requirements to ride mx in Italy?

Anyone know if Sardinia has bike rentals? Don’t have anything planned but southern Italy is on our list and I would love to ride that track. Wish I knew about the tracks near Milan as I’ve been there twice in the past year 🤣
