Very cool...I hope he enjoyed it as much as you probably did. Hopefully he will remember it so you can talk about it years from now. Ultra trick #plate...I ran some exactly like that at one time.Wink

Nice. It's a shame BMX isn't more popular here. Back when I made my kid hang up MX, I dumped over a grand into a BMX bike. Closest track was 1.5 hours away, and the few times I took him there were only about a dozen kids there (despite an awesome track with well organized sanctioned races). There would never be enough guys in his age group/skill level to make it worth the investment. Thusly, I still have a very expensive and almost never used BMX bike collecting dust in my house. It's sitting right next to my two sportbikes that haven't left the house since November. If there were a track close by, I would have gotten my younger kid into it on the same bike, but the sport's dead around here. When I was a kid, we lived for BMX.

Great # plate for sure Wink

Modern BMX has turned into riding ramps and bowls at skate parks etc, not like it was back in the 80's and 90's with more people riding tracks.

We have a pretty popular track 15 miuntes from my house. Get close to 100 riders for the races. Joe did pretty good but wanted to play baseball this year instead of BMX. Saved me some cash as he is ready for a bigger bike. Probably start going back once baseball is done.

Awesome! Now get him a real helmet before he gets hurt. Our tracks also have long pants and long sleeved shirt rules.

Bar pads, long pant rules, helmets, blah, blah. We used to huck our Schwinns over anything that resembled a ramp and we made it just fine.

Awesome! Good job. I've seen some kids get real wadded up. It happens in an instant and the better they are protected, the better off they usually are.

It's cool your kids are enjoying it so much. It is a great family environment and competitive sport to be a part of.

I've had a lifetime of good times at the BMX track and am still running one of the old man's cruiser class. My kid is almost on his micro mini.

Congrats to your son. BMX racing is something that I have enjoyed greatly, and it is awesome to see that kids are still enjoying the sport.

You guys expected anything different from a rat ride? I say boo..... Should have used electrical tape on that paper plate. Changeable numbers.

I think my kids would love it. I might go check out a local track soon.
