Took a 22 hour road trip to Pennsylvania and picked up a old FBF husky cr125. The wheels have Fred Hoess name on them which I found out Fred was a factory husky rider and won 19 isde gold medals and rode the ex FBF mx sx team bikes in the 03-04 national enduro championship. Bike still had the works suspension, stamped motor, pc ti pegs and bunch of ti . Plan clean it up and put 01 FBF team graphics on it.

Rode a husky 50 when I was a kid around the fbf time period and those cr125s always seemed really cool to me. Good luck with build I'm sure it'll look great
Yeah I liked them alot in 2000-02. I called Hall,s Husky trying to get a deal or a left over. Probably because of watching Chiodi destroy everyone. He only had 1 race cylinder is the word yrs later, sounds crazy. That bike was a rocket ship tho. Nice super Rare find. Plz race it a little people would Love to see it.
Fred was in my brother's wedding and used to MTB with us. Moto with him was out of the question, another league altogether.

Very cool I would like to reach out and talk to Fred some time.
It was the same for me I remember seeing pics of the FBF bikes in 2001 and 02 in the magazines and online and wanting just a stock one but we didn’t have any dealers around here and I was only 13 or 14 then . I was able to find a ex 2002 FBF 250 bike in 2020 I restored .![]()
They rip, I had an 07 and an 09 and used a bunch of the FBF mods.
I haven't ridden the newer 125's but it just had so much power everywhere, JD Racing ignition would really wake them up. 144 up to 167 big bores are easy to attain with these engines. Can also mess with the power valve springs, CCK/DDK, JD needles in a 36 or 38 PWK to get the most out of them. I had those forks as well on my 07 and they were much better than the stock zoke's. LT Racing knows them quite well.
I'm hoping to get an 09-14 again at some point.
Fred Hoess was also the 1980 NETRA (new england trail riders association) MINI A Junior Enduro champion.Probably his most hard fought title.😀
FBF suspension stickers...
So, how's it goin'? I see you have a Fred Hoess bike now. Right on! I did some fork work on his GNCC bike for '00-'01. That guy was our hero...40 hour workweek, kids and he still made time to race a full season!
I'm not anywhere near anything one might call active on this forum, but I recall you restoring an FBF Husky a couple years ago and one of the only things you needed were the suspension setting stickers. I messaged you about possibly having them but, unfortunately, I couldn't find 'em.
Well, guess what? I found 'em! I didn't count how many I have but there's a handful. How many do you want? I also have the clear stickers that went over them. These are absolutely legit FBF items. I twisted wrenches for the MX team when they went out West with six riders, but mostly worked in the shop in Willow Grove, PA. I've turned on my notifications so, let me know!
Hey buddy I have been talking to Fred abd found out my 250 was his bike also . He said they welded on brackets on the steering steam for a stabilizer and abd voltage regulator and I was wondering what that was on my 250 was for . My phone number is 7058400559 if you wouldn’t mind texting me thanks
Cool. I'll sort 'em out tonight and text ya tomorrow.
Husky boy 50 found this and figured it needed to be saved.
Very cool budy
So cool buddy . I was a young teen prob only 13 or 14 back in 2001 and I wanted a Italian husky so bad but up here in Ontario Canada we didn’t have any dealers back then and I just remember searching the net and magazines drooling over pics of them . I just wanted a stock one back then never thought be possible to have a race team one and now I have 2 of them . Only took 20 years lol
I'm jealous! Sweet bike...
Thanks buddy . Means a lot coming from you a guy that knows his stuff and has a lot of trick works parts
Did the stickers show up?
The big ones go on the forks, one per bike will suffice. I only had two of those.
The small ones go on the shock reservoir.
The clear ones are to protect the stickers. I imagine you might be able to use dry-erase markers for the specs, but I don't recall us ever having done that. We were rolling in spares...

Hey thanks so much for sending those I really appreciate it. I haven’t received yet Canada post is on strike but hopefully I get them soon fingers crossed lol
The Postal clerk here said it could take a couple/few weeks. Declaring the contents of the envelope for Customs would have been pricey, but would have guaranteed delivery. As it is, they're in a bubble pack envelope that cost...
$3.50
(cue the SouthPark narrations). 🤣
Here's to a safe delivery. 🍺
any updates on the bike? Cool find. The old owner or someone that had to do with the team has a pristine 125. I talked to them a few years back the bike was for sale but it was a litlte out of my price range for what it was..
Just waiting on collecting parts to start putting it back together . If you hear of any parts or any memorabilia from the team can you please let me know I’m really interested and really appreciate any help
Nice I sent you a text. Do you still have the Rg3 linkage for crf250?
Sent a text? I’ll send you phone number pm
Tried texting you and calling you.. maybe shoot me an email. Robertmartin517@yahoo.com Seeing you still have the Rg3 linkage..
Got the graphics on the bike and it’s looking proper again like it would have back in her day as a factory racer![]()
