Tried putting something up in the other forum (tech/help) didn’t get much advice
Long story short I bought the bike the guy proved to me it had been rebuilt which I didn’t doubt the bike runs and rides fine but when I go to hit the power band from pull off ( 1st or 2nd gear) the bike sounds like it has a rev limiter and resembles the sound of a weed whacker . Sounds like the clutch is slipping but it’s not reving high when I hit the band for it to slip
Someone mentioned the guy who rebuilt it could have not properly adjusted the PV and it’s not opening at the right time for it to hit
Please help I have no money left to my name and will struggle to sell it as soon as someone finds out there’s no braaaaapppp
Another thing it that it seems to have a pit bike throttle on it that you and pull all the way back to mars
Clearly a case of the previous owner installing the wrong colored power band but the pit bike throttle should speak volumes to you to begin with.
I believe the 05 ran a Keihin carb but there are models out there using the Stihl version which give that weedwhacker note in the high rev range
Probably best to let the buyer know it has no braaaaaap to avoid any awkward situations during the sale.
Good luck Henry.
I have an 05 200 and it’s pretty simple to take the power valve apart and reset it. Google Ktm 200 Langston power valve setting. I can’t find the exact page that went into the different configurations but there is a site that tells you how you can change settings for the gears and rack to change the way the power feels.
Try reading this site. Quick skim showed some good info but this definetly wasn’t the site I was thinking of from 10 years ago.

WTF !! Do all you do is buy bikes that wont run or run bad to start with? now your whining about a KTM not running right to go with your RMZ450 wont start when hot threads. Maybe dirt bikes are not your thing or maybe you are just a troll but please just go away. And there is a reason you are broke and have no money left.

Power valve probably not hooked up right. I had the same thing when I rebuilt my 200.
Also, if you have a screen type spark arrestor, it may be too dirty and does not allow the bike to exhaust right. Also experienced this.
The Shop

Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
1. Pull apart the power valve assembly, fully clean it and reassemble it correctly.
2. Do a full rebuild on the carb. There are rebuild kits readily available. Make sure to include removing the internal metering block and replacing the o rings inside there.
Cheers man thanks for helping instead of taking the piss out of me 😂
If your not going to help please don’t comment haven’t got time you sound like your a Biden supporter get da fudge outta here
It's definitely 4 stroking.
If your bike is really flat, #66 and #67 might to be aligned properly. It is possible to drop down the cylinder onto the engine cases and not have 66 and 67 engaged.
This is solid info. I did that once on my 200.
Lift the cylinder up and engage properly.
It will run good then. That is a fun bike!!!
