How Stanton never bagged a 500 title is one of the mysteries of MX back then. He seemed a natural for the big bikes. Maybe the 500 quackers really did have an advantage?

He probably was stoned..... But he did a lot of therapy and speech classes to overcome the stutter. Pretty impressive to land a gig with speed, He has come along ways.

Hard to believe that was 15 years ago. Id love to see more 93-94 videos, that was when I first got into motocross in highschool Brings back memories of staying up till 2am to watch it on TV and go nuts taping it on VHS.

Great video. Love the deep sounds of those 500s. Unreal how Emig has grown into a fantastic public speaker. As I recall, he got way better even by the time he was winning his 250 titles.

Thank's Bob! That makes Supercross seem like a Horse and Pony show.

Wow that brings back memories. One of the funnest nationals I ever attended. That crazy bitch you hear yelling Whooo Doug Henry at 17:48 - 17:50 was my ex fiance. By this time of the day she had all but lost her voice but had one more left in her. She was a huge Doug Henry fan. We sat on the opposite hill until late in the 2nd moto when I came up with the idea that it would be cool to see him cross the finish line for his first championship. We got there and got up to the front of the crowd. We were so far up front that they pulled a banner across to keep the crowd out and they put it behind us. When Henry raised his had at the finish line, we where pretty much the first people he seen and looked right at us. We were all cheering but she freaked out and screemed like a jackle. That video at the end put chills down my spine. That aint the only time I've heard that crazy bitch scream. I can't believe it was caught on tape. I had never seen that race on video before.
