Why can't they just go ahead and put 5 and 8 names on there?
Because single digit numbers are reserved for national champions.
It wouldn't be a problem if they just ran what they earned.
Prado gonna fork over money for his #61?
Funny to find Bourdon and Pape with consecutive numbers...
😉

Why?

He can’t buy a double digit number ,
I’d be surprised if he doesn’t earn the right to choose it next year
this prolly a stupid question but why the riders can’t take a 3 digit perm # anymore 🤔 I do miss the ol days when I was in middle & high school looking at hanny & alessi rocking the 100 & 800 every race weekend
Because it doesn't work that way
Correct me if I’m wrong, but in Prado’s case, don’t former or current world champions get to run a number like 100, or 101, or something to that effect?
In their first season when coming over.
Lol
Damn Filthy Phil earned 29 and rode off into the sunset.
Always was surprised they still assign numbers to riders that they know are for sure retiring. I guess if they change their mind?
I am so happy Kitchen is 47 for life! Or at least for now! I got one of his race worn jerseys!
I figured Mitch Payton chose the number for him, because Hammaker had 47 for the 2022 pro motocross
How was Mike Alessi able to run the # 800 for all those years? Hell he is still racing AMA Arenacross with # 800 in 2024!
I’m forgot to mention.. imagine if Pastrana kept with racing instead of FMX. He would not look the same without the 199 . It’s his entire brand, literally!
Mike was grandfathered in with his 800 like Pourcel was with 377 when he came back in 2014-2016. I think they changed the rules in 2010 that riders couldn’t keep a 3 digit number as a career number.
When did they include non-AMA members to the national number list?
Pit Row
Last year.
Suprised Haiden didn’t go with a single digit. I get that he and his family branded the #38, but he could have made the #8 his own.
You answered your own question. The 38 brand. Look at someone like Kenny, 94 for life
Broc Tickle at 71? Didn't he only race two times.
Why no #13?
Nobody wants it !
