I just had a chance to re-watch the last round again and I don't think anyone had really mentioned Eli (IMO) practically saving Hunter's life at the start of the second race.

In the first rhythm section you see that Hunter misses the triple after the double and immediately looks back realizing he could be in trouble.

Eli is already committed to the triple behind Hunter and what I initially thought was a huge mistake that Eli was lucky to get away with, it turns out it was a massive course correction so he didn't land on Hunter.

I think Hunter owes Eli a Christmas card this year.

I legitimately thought one or both of them was going to be leaving in an ambulance from that one. Props to both guys

Go back and watch the start of the first moto, and try to tell me that another rider couldn't have made even the slightest effort to avoid landing on Sexton.

Tomac's move was indeed incredible.

Is there better video of the section than what we saw on the telecast?  Or a still photo?

Sexton was moving to the right trying to hit the inside of the next turn. Hunter looks to the right but moves as far left as he can. Big difference.

I can't believe they didn't ask Eli about this on the podium. This was sketchy, and he saved it like a legend.

I'm really surprised not a lot of people are discussing this. I thought someone's career was going to be over..

What an ignorant take. It's MUCH easier to make a correction or change of direction on a big jump like Tomac did, rather than a small low speed double that Barcia hit.
