Hi guys
Someone I know is selling a KTM 350 24 model with 18hrs on it. He is taking a break from riding and selling his scoot. It currently has 6500's up front with a trax shock, vortex, full Akro, WP clamps, some kinda anti vibe bar mounts... ect all stock parts with it. He is advertising it stock on the higher side but wants and additional 4k on top to include all the good stuff to go with it.
Im kinda on the fence on this as the bike market in Australia has taken a dump. I tried the 350 thing a while ago but didn't gel with it. Although that was a 23 model and was bone stock and this has all the recommended up grades
My current ride is a low hour 24 CRF450 with KYB A kit on it. No real complaints but at 57 years old I know that I may need to step down from a 450 some where in the future hence why I tried the 350 experiment. I only ride MX
Any words of wisdom from my fellow vitards?.
Cheers Rob
I would wait & buy a 25 model, will have new frame & holes in upper engine hangers, thats where the comfort zone is….
Rob2489 What kind of rider are you? I been on 350's for years.Your need to ride them very aggressively . However the 23 & newer has a more torque feel than the earlier versions.
I just turned 61 & I am finding it more difficult to attack all the time & keep roll speed up.
Conversely I've ridden the 25 honda 450 quite a bit & I am thinking of making a switch to the new 450
Im getting pulled off corners & have to push 100% to keep pace. This is based on my buddies increase in speed since the switch from kx 450 to new 25 Honda 450 .I wasn't having theses issues a couple years ago. That's why I say know where you are & the type of rider you are.
My 25 KTM 350 has the 6500 kit, revalved stock shock, fmf pipe & vortex. That akro is pricey , the trax to me have not been much better than revalved stock. Generally speaking my bikes look stock & I don't spend on bling items. so no opinion on those items
I've ridden the new YZ450 not for me. The KX450 I like it but you cant sell a used KX . KTM 450.I think I bored with the Austrian platform as most of my items would transfer over.
All this said I may buy the Honda & keep the 350 . FYI I don't like the 24 & older Honda chassis.
Hope this helps
Regarding my riding style I tend to run a gear higher so I tend not to rev the bike hard at all. It can be called lazy but I have always felt the suspension works better if its not being run at 10,000rpm everywhere. I think that's why I didn't gel with the 350.
After I sold my 23 I rode another 350 later that had the 6500 in the front forks - other than that it was stock and the bike to me felt heavy and slow for what it was. I forgot how much they vibrated to when being rev'd hard as well.
I rode a 25 YZ and didn't mind it but they ergo's take some getting used to but I should maybe test the 25 Honda at least my A Kit suspension will fit it.
I was just tempted with the 350 given it had most of the upgrades I would do if I had one but I may also end up back in the same spot all over again.
Thanks
He’s asking 4k more with the upgrades and that’s about what you’d spend anyway so it’s just not like it’s a steal compared to stock and setting up.

I think only the forks will fit from your A-Kit on the Honda. They changed the production fork tubes for different flex to match the new frame, but wouldn't know how that would translate with the A-Kit.
