Wow, just heard that on motoverte.com....

GPs should start after the US SX Championship overseas. 1 GP in Australia, 2 maybe 3 in the US, 1 in Brazil then back to Europe in August.

To be confirmed (or not) tomorrow in a press conference...

Love to see it. Not sure the Robinson's want the hassle unless GL makes it more attractive money wise (don't hold your breath!). MXSports has to be on the edge of their seats.

Is this some kind of ploy to get AMA riders to come over. That would seem like a pretty long series.

The money in the US is sx only. The GP's should get everyone else. Im all for it. One true, real outdoor motocross series.

I believe it's well known that GL wants to start the GP's right after SX to allow people to run SX and World MX. It looks good on paper. Running 2 or 3 races stateside right after SX season allows guys to move from one series to the next more easily.

This may backfire on him. Look how many top riders get hurt running SX and can't race MX at the start. GP riders may start running the SX and have the same problems that many former GP riders have had...Alby being a prime example...Tortelli...others. Just my .02.

From next year, maybe the Arenacross guys will be able to race the US nationals and if they finish top 5, they can move up to the GP's.

Frash air is desperately needed in MX, having the GPs starting here in May would be simply awesome. That sounds big, exciting.

If nobody else wants to think out of the box we need something like one or more USGPs in May.

Who cares if someone is pissed, there is always someone pissed at anything.

What makes you guys think guys are going to want to race overseas in the GP's . Travel way more,be away from friends and family for months at a time, and on top of all those bonuses have no purse money while they're at it. I love the GP's only because of the fact that the other 1/2 fast guys in the world race it and I love the tracks but if there's going to be one MX series it's going the be the US series. At least as long as Mr Luongo is running the show. Maybe if they didn't have a greedy ass money grubbing dictator running the GP's would take over and if that was the case I'd be fine w/it.

Bet DC wishes he and MX Sports wouldn't have played Dirty Pool with Bud Feldcamp and GH. I can gurantee Luongo is now using this USGP as a spring board or momentum if you will, to try and diminish the US Nationals and push his original agenda. Hence, the plan to start the GP's after SX.

That's my guess. If you're going to try and take over the USA start w/the two best tracks. Red Bud and GH.. Although Red Bud being the spot for celebrating Americas independence day on the 4th of July it would be ironic if Mr Luongo swiped that one too.

I have no idea why anyone thinks that the U.S. Factory guys would rather travel out of the country to race. The GP's would require a lot of travel and unless they are going to offer huge purse money I don't see the Factories moving over. That's just MHO.

Let me get this straight. You already have the fastest guys from the GP's coming over to race your National series, the factories put put loads of money into the series, the sponsors are making the fan experience better every year and you think that MX needs "fresh air"???

The only thing that the GP's seem to have over the U.S. Nationals is the track setup and look of the event. The GP's have a more polished look to me, but the Nationals have been making progress each year IMO.

OMG this will cause major problems for the smaller teams, even the big ones won't be happy. MX is too small for a worldwide series with a constant state of niveau. One week the teams will be in their own rigs, the next one in box vans. At least that's my opinion
