The motors problem is that it was in a chassis that was not set up right.
My opinion anyway.

Pesronally, I think it was a throttle problem. His didn't seem to come backwards as far as Reed's, Alessi's and about 9 others!!!

i saw them swapping the clutch or something after the 1st moto. team suzuki and dungey will have their shit togther very soon and he will run up front. how can he not?

All of a sudden? ..............They didn't seem to have any "Motor Problems" winning this years SX champioship or last years outdoors title ....why not go back to last years settings?

Most of the guys that were running up front raced none or very little during the Supercross season. They got a much earlier start on their outdoor testing. I think Dungey will be fine once he has had a little more time to get the bike dialed in. If he has proven anything the last couple of years it is that he is willing to put the time and effort in that is required to make things right.

You do realize that the motor built to run 15 minute sprints at night is drastically different than the motors they build for outdoors don't you? Especially with fuel injection.

Dungey beat Millsaps almost all year in sx. Now Millsaps goes 3-2 at Hangtown. Hmmm.

Supercross isn't outdoors. Dungey has been a good outdoor rider but I would say he is much better indoors. He will definitely get better but I tend to think this championship will come down to green vs. orange.

Well...he may not have cared for Reeds motor characteristics/setup...?? He also got crappy starts from what I saw.......it's hard to make time up on any of the top 5 guys. Although Chad looked pretty dern strong! Whistling

Somebody in Japan didn't have their slide rule jetted to Pacific Time, and the problem wasn't discovered until post race teardown.

Dungey will be fine. People are expecting way to much out of him. At the next race he will be top 5 and he might get a fews wins later on.

If Stewart ever shows up he is going to kick the crap out of these guys. James is going to make Reed,Alessi and Dungeys life on the track much easier by taking the pressure off them to win. They have NO chance.

Probably but that has nothing to do with the championship. I am just wondering if Dungey will be a contender or not.

I think Dungey is a contender big time. He has proven he can stay healthy through a whole series. IMO there is not a rider in the field that can dominate every moto. Every contender in the field has 3 or 4 bad moto's in them.

Bobby mentioned something about the clutch...this leads me to a question I've been pondering lately. When I see the guys crash or dump their bikes, they almost always keep running (I've heard this is attributed to EFI). My real question is that I have seen numerous riders pick up the bike without grabbing for the clutch and then just gas it and go. Are they running slipper or auto-clutches now?

Rumor has it Suzuki has developed a new carbon fiber powerband which not only develops more HP, but is lighter and more durable than standard red or blue powerbands .
Also heard Yoshimura has given Suzuki new titaninum muffler bearings that they will test at Freestone. Supposedly they are lighter and stronger than the Pro Circuit stainless steel muffler bearing they run last season.

Dungey beat the shit out of these guys all winter. The only new guy in the mix is Alessi and he a shitty SX rider.

Dungey is fine. he is the 3rd or 4th best guy in the field and will show up and kick ass next week.
