And what are they trying to accomplish? If this is aimed to be a track combining motocross with supercross I fail to see any motocross parts? Pls fill me in
Is it off spec supercross rhythms minus whoops with super long straight aways?
IMO, if they really want to combine the two, it should take place on an outdoor track that uses half of a motocross track with some added supercross sections. However, I guess that holding it in venues like Charlotte is much better for viewing and ticket sales but then again where is the mx in smx?
It’s flat ground, you can’t exactly replicate an outdoors track but with the long straights and flat corners it’s a good attempt
For us europeans this seems like a large ”sx-ish” track while the american’s seem to see it like if it’s not pure SX its MX.
And a american mx track often have jumps that are way more sx-ish than our tracks have.
Would be awesome if they could go up and down the stands on each side of the track. Kinda like they ran at the coliseum. No clue if those stands could handle it though, but it would add some elevation and a little more motocross into the race......it also looked like their were plenty of empty seats.
It's a tamed down SX track and a tamed down MX track. That's why it's extremely fast and difficult to sepparate riders. The best riders will fin da way to be better and win as we've seen.

Also it would be cool if there was spectating in the back section set up like a national. With general admission tickets around the back part of the track.
We can all agree that specially the play off tracks should have whoops though, right? I just love watching tough whoops as a spectator and how it seperates the elite riders..
A little more outdoor style in the layouts to create a "hybrid" type of event. It's just all the nearby asphalt that scares me.
SMX is definitely a 3rd type of track design different than MX and SX.
Bike set up is a lot more challenging trying to find a bike setting stiff enough for SX pounding and smooth enough for MX .
Bring back the superbikers !
Did you miss last year when all the teams showed up with SX settings and scrambled to make adjustments?
I think the tracks for SMX have been good.
