How do you like the Mx buddy app? I have never felt like paying the monthly subscription for lit pro.

I don’t have any complaints. Besides lap times, it also breaks down the track into segment times and shows mile per hour speed. The coolest feature is that you can compare individual lap times against each other on the track map, there will be 2 different little dots you can watch race around the track.
On another note, I had a problem uploading my watch data to the app a while ago. So I messaged the developer of the app and he updated the app to fix my problem in just a few hours. That was impressive.

Looks like MX Buddy is not available for android?  Or am I just missing it?

I’m not sure, I have an IPhone so maybe it’s apple exclusive?

Looks like you were able to be resuscitated at the 6 min. mark and continue. Props to you for the dedication 🤘

Anyone not using a chest strap for a sport where you HOLD ON to something is doing it wrong. Wrist based HR is inaccurate in these circumstances. As soon as you're clenching your hand you're compromising the accuracy.

Both companies make some decent watches. I'm just more a fan of Polar Flow over Garmin's "kitchen sink" approach to software.

Anecdotally my wife had a ton of trouble with wrist HR on her last 2 Garmins. She switched to Polar and I'm trying to convince her to at least try an arm band when mountain biking. She has far less drops with the Polar, but still drops nonetheless.

I've had zero issues with my Polar Pacer Pro in the last 18 months of use. Moto, mountain biking, running, gym. Not a single workout was missed. Not a single error or dropped heart rate. Again, I firmly believe in using a chest strap.

I wear a chest strap with my Garmin Instinct and find it very accurate. The watch hrm seems affected by outside temperature (cool weather  and it does not work) and activity (wrist position while cycling I guess).

Yeah 100%, that's my point though... Regardless of who you go with, you need a chest strap. I'm actually wearing a Garmin HRM strap right now for my stationary ride. I have a Polar H10 I use for all the outdoor stuff. The only reason I use a Polar watch over Garmin is the app. To each their own!

Yes, a chest strap is always going to be more stable than a wrist HRM but some wrist HRM are pretty darn close.  Wrist HRM is also affected by how dark your skin is and how hairy your arm is.   True story.

Hey dude, this was recorded on my H10. I didn’t wanna beat a dead horse but it never even collected data for my first real moto. Didn’t bother posting that though.

Well, that's odd then. The H10 is probably the only device that has literally never given me any grief.

Love this thread and I have been running my Garmin Fenix 5 but only able to look at "laps" in Miles. I too have an Android and hope it's available. Really want to see lap times for training and bike set up changes-

Thanks again OP for this thread-

What “workout” do you use on your garmin to upload to Mx buddy? I’ve been having issues getting them to show up.

You have to record it under mountain biking. The developer gave me the heads up when I was having trouble.

You can create any workout you want on the Garmin (Fenix 6 pro)

You decide what data screens you want. IMG 4189 0
