I watched this whole thing unfold Saturday. In the heat race, like they showed on TV, Preston was coming up and Sorby was falling back. I think Sorby started 3rd and Preston started 6th or so. When Preston caught Sorby he started blocking and Preston got a little close in the last corner. About three corners later, Sorby layed up going into a corner, squared it off KW style and t-boned Preston taking them both down. Preston took his time getting his bike off of Sorby's but didn't throw any punches or anything. Sorby got away and had almost two straight aways on TP.

About 3 or 4 laps later, TP was within a half a straight of Sorby and you could tell when he recognized it was Sorby he turned it up a notch to try and catch him before the race was over. In about a lap he caught Sorby coming into the last corner and squared it up and pinned it. They showed this one later on CBS. This is the one where Sorby ended up 20 feet off the track. That was PAYBACK.

In the LCQ, it was the same story, Preston was ahead of Sorby and Sorby took him out again in a corner. I think TP was easily going to get in and Sorby was just playing dirty again. Straight up took him out in a corner. So Preston comes back through the pack again, catching Sorby with a lap or two to go and parks in front of him in the last corner. Sorby saw it coming and stopped. Neither rider fell, but both lost plenty of time. By then the night was over for both of them.

Sorby's a chump. Preston played the game in both races but only after Sorby instigated in both instances.

Sorby is Mr. Takeout, and I ain't talking about food to go.

Nobody including the announcers remembered A3 in (02?? or 03). Sorby kept brake checking Preston everywhere on the track, the week before Walker stuck Preston into the finish metal at San Fran. Preston wanted to kill sorby or slash his tires. He probably did later that night in the ATL.

i thought that was sorby who put him into the finish line, but that was the FIRST thing that came to mind when sorby took preston out.

I've been posting stories about Sorby's douche-ness for five years. He needs to get run over.

I laugh just thinking about how that looked. It looked like Sorby tried to get away, throttled it, and Preston pointed him in the wrong direction. He bee-lined it straight off the track what looked to be wide open throttle.

Anyone have a youtube link to that? I sure could use a good laugh on a Monday...

Of all the riders I can think of that gets the douche award its him. Cutting the track, taking riders out. This has been going on since his douchness came to America. Without him, there is no drama so you can think of it like that. I dont think anyone will argue his tactics are less then sportsman like.

It always amazes me when these guys try to settle it on the track. You end up screwing yourself. I'd have stayed away from any blatant on track altercations ... and simply caught him alone in the pits and settled things. This is probably the only time I'll ever say the NASCAR guys have it right. Sometimes a good punch in the face can work wonders on a total jerk-off rider ... or driver.

yea last nite was pretty intense, i was in third until Tp make a dirty pass on me, but after talking to him and Ama he was just showing is front wheels like he said but i never know showing you front whees get u a bruise in you arm and F.. my ARC lever down!!!!

he should know beter if you play dirty with dirty rider he should expect to see me coming to the next indside line!!!! the differende between my take out and is i did not try to broke is legs or whatever.... but oh well racing sometime get dirty and we know about it, some are going to take my side and some is... whatever.. we both got fine from AMA just a "warning" Tp wasn't to happy about it but wen you start the fire expect to get burn sometime!!!!!

Sorby is worthless, but the fact that he gives Preston a hard time is laughable. Preston is the funniest guy in the sport. I love how he gave away his main event position just to slam Sorby really hard. Its too bad Kawasaki won't share that opinion, however.

sounds to me like tp needs to practice his starts if he doesnt want to get caught up with rif-raf jokers like sorby

ive spent a lot of time with french people (including sorby a few times), they are easily misunderstood. our two cultures just dont mix for whatever reason.

im not gonna knock ur guys' assesment of the whole deal, but for me personally, i found it entertaining.

The fact that Sorby's a clod has nothing to do with his being French. We've got our fair share of clods as well. Sorby might be the king of all clods though.

I've always liked TP since his 125 victories and those crazy post race interviews. He needs to get a podium finish. His humor and wit would be a welcome break from the normal dribble of the post race comments. I love him in the booth doing color commentary with Shaheen and Emig.
