I like how they have to say Roczen and Tomac are on "different teams" than normal...but you and I know they're on their contracted factory bikes and parts but their "team" is really just a trailer to haul the bikes around for them. I mean they didn't even change bike graphics.

I promise that the racers value a SX or MX title that they have raced a whole season for more than the SMX ”title” beside the price money.
Remove the price check and then you will see what the riders really think about the SMX…
I believe you missed the context....SMX is more prestigious than WSX...never compared it to SX or MX...
King and Prince of Bercy/Paris. Been going on since the 80's and they pay the top riders start money and the riders keep the race winnings..... Clearly it can be done with Series Sponsors, TV deals, Ticket sales etc.
Its not even competing with the AMA schedule this year and people still say its bad. Its putting checks in riders pockets, I just don't understand the hate?
KR and ET going to WSX will keep the money flowing for SMX. The competition between the two series will bump rider payouts as long as both are alive.

For the guys that think this series doesn't matter because it's Kenny and Eli beating up a bunch of nobodies, I'd like to introduce the original Dream team as exhibit A.
When the United States brought Jordan and all the stars to the Olympics it was a joke how bad they beat up the other countries. The thing that wasn't a joke was the exposure it gave to people who would never see NBA basketball. Now, 30 years later the NBA (still sucks but) is full of players from around the world. Just the same as you can draw a direct line from the Bercy Supercross to JMB to Tom Vialle. WSX is exposure to people who wouldn't otherwise see the sport and that is nothing but good for the future.

I think the original Vancouver Supercross, around 1984, had Hannah and O'Show as the main attraction along with some fast privateers such as Phil Larson and top Canadian riders. It was great (older brother was a flagman) and some of the top privateers showed up at a moto race held in Mission, BC the next day (I think Ross laid wood on the field). Next came the AMA World Supercross in the 2000's which brought the Ricky/James/Chad show racing on the infamous moon dirt. As a supporter of the sport I am ecstatic that we will get to see ET3, Kroc and others doing their thing on Canadian soil. Cut the bullshit and support the sport.
Star is not participating or paying for anything. GDR will pay the expenses and WSX is paying the appearance fee. Teams have allowed their riders to supplement their income with off season races as far back as I can remember.

Yet they won’t allow Max do a similar scenario at MXdN and team GB can’t afford the budget that Star is proposing. Feels like they’re only going to support him if other Star riders attend but I hope Im wrong and Max gets the green light.

First Max and Star worked that out at the time he joined Star "early". He knew he was on his own for the MXoN.
Second it's not a similar scenario. Tomac has a fully paid vacation, nobody is stepping up to pay for Max's trip. A similar scenario would be Max partnering with a team in Europe for logistical support and Infront paying him an appearance fee to cover anything the local partner doesn't pay.

The Abu Dhabi round is days before the F1 season finale in Abu Dhabi too. Should bring some good exposure.
It was my understanding that Team GB would front the bill, obviously no show up money but I’d imagine they would get a bike and he just brings over his suspension instead of throwing the Star bike in a crate etc.
Just gave the interview with Max about MXdN a replay and he says “Star doesn’t want to do this half assed, they want to bring over two bikes and do it right. What Star is asking for is about triple the amount of GB’s budget.”
Yet they’re allowing Tomac to ride on a different team’s bike? Couldn’t they just cut the budget and not send over two bikes? Just seems odd especially with Max being from GB and the race taking place on his home soil. You’d think Star would want that publicity.

Why do so many Bitch about more racing. It not as good as AMA supercross but still entertaining when I am bored in the offseason. So i say its a win.
