I got out the pallete knives this past week and completed this study of the late Danny "Magoo" Chandler, taken from a photo at the MXDN Donnington Park in 2009.
It's an 18" x24" Acrylic on canvas, painted entirely using just pallete knives.

I was trying to capture the inner fire he still had in his eyes and his dignity despite his paralysis! Hope you like it!

Beautiful work Rob and a very fitting tribute.

Very appropriate that you would use just the knives to do a painting of someone who always rode on the edge.

Thanks for all the kind words. I will look into getting some prints done. Just wanted to share this work with his many fans the Memorial weekend for magoo at Hangtown.
