Been following these hoodrats for years when one of my buddies got a couple stolen. He did alota leg work back then n tracked his down through these clowns instagram posts. I started following n never posted or called anyone out so they never deleted me. Fast fwd to last year my 23 and my 21 WE got stolen from our shop at my parents place. I started watching insta again and following dozens of bike lifers. Sure enough th honda showed in two weeks.  Its disappeared but the yam is still a staple in their rides. Even took it to miami. If i didn't have a 9 year old, 10 years ago i woulda went the day i figured it out.. but insurance paid me so i kinda convinced myself not to do anything stupid. Had all kinda plans. Cops have all info on the regular and they plain old dont give a damn.. i even gave them the address but they claimed they hadnt seen it.. i think they have youngstown pd paid off at this point..

The power of social media... clearly they don't realize it's a 2 way mirror Smile   That's quite the history, good on you for being level headed about it all!

Just threw the 25 linkage on my 24, wlth thats sprung for me with OEM valving. Its definitely significantly firmer on the top. Just like they said on the first impression videos it might need to be revalving to work on the 24. Im sure its going to be interesting to try this weekend with the new engine mounts. Im bringing my 24 linkage and mounts expecting it to be very miserable.

Be sure to reset/check sag and don’t be afraid to open up that high-speed and low-speed compression a bit if it feels too firm…Shouldn’t be that far off, but good on you for bringing 24’ stockers just in case.

Thank you for reminding me, just swapping the linkage over my sag went from 105mm to about 85mm 😬. So I reset it at 105mm. Though it made me wonder if I should try a lower sag around 95mm to 97mm to help with the front end twitchiness. I recently hit a sandy trail and the bike was washing out everywhere ever since I put the forks to 5mm from 3mm. Ironically 7mm was better than 5mm out there. It tried to high side me twice and succeded one of those those times.

I tried a search and didn't find anything. Also, didn't want to read the entire 73 page thread (even though I have read most of it). Have any of you guys had trouble with your gas vent hose getting crimped when you latch down the fuel tank (front part of seat) cover? The stock hose was really soft on mine and I changed to a little firmer hose which seemed to help, but I'm just a little paranoid about it shutting off fuel flow.

*edit I did find where Meister got a FB suggestion of cutting the nipple shorter on the cap.

That looks way worse than mine did at 20 hours.  Was definitely due though.  About 5 hours on the hinson replacement and so for so good.

This is what so far gone you have to push bike back to the pits looks like….

Stack measured at 27.8mm   Low spec limit is 29mm!

Not that I can tell.  Basket, hub and plate all look good.  However I’m moving to Hinson BTL setup as had in my last bike and went 100+ hours on a clutch pack.

Does anyone know if the PowerTuner App will keep track of hours if running a Vortex ECU?

It will not.  Stock ECU reports hours to the app so if using vortex you will see hours stay unchanged from when you installed your vortex.

Just install a separate hour meter and track using that.

BTL = back torque limiting (slipper) clutch. It’s typically used in supermoto/ road based application where you have higher traction as it helps avoid rear wheel hop on downshift/ decel.  MX it can help with the same.

Here’s a review from MXA on 250F.
https://motocrossactionmag.com/mxa-team-tested-hinson-yamaha-yz250f-btl-slipper-clutch/

While I don’t have data, and Hinson didn’t either, they said clutch life is typically better on the BTL setup than the Hinson hub and Hinson pressure plate.

Ran the 2025 linkage and engine mounts today on my 2024 spring rate and valving. The bike is so much better, so much more stable on the front end, and front end feeling. I can tell that I have lean angle traction now instead of just guessing it. I lost the front under braking and the bike just sorta pat me on the shoulder and said. "Its ok" and rode through it lol. Another change I made was going 13/48 gearing as well.

Im happy it went so well, I was getting ready to toss a 90/100 AT82 on the front.

I wouldn’t do the 90/100. I have the 80/100 and it is noticeably taller than a 80/100 MX33 or 34. I bet the 90 would throw off your steering some.

Did you try the linkage and front mount separate or all at the same time.

I did the front engine mounts first, I did 43 miles on them on my normal desert trails. Its a healthy mixture of soft desert sand, to hard pack, to river wash. Then I got the linkage on for the MX track and I just hit the desert trail with it yesterday evening. The feeling is definitely different on the trail vs the track.
