I've had more fun on my 125's than my KX450 lately. I have a 2004 CR125 and 2003 RM125 that I thinker with. I'm 6'2 240lbs. At all the local tracks I ride at, I'm able to clear all the big jumps but it's hard :p

Being heavier on a small bore 2 stroke, you'll need to keep your momentum up as much as possible, because if it boggs, you're stuck for a little bit until you can get it back up and moving.

Biggest & most shocking bolt on is a iKat for the 04. Mxa said it was shocking ly good on the 04 the other bikes not so much. 05-07 air boot boost low to mid & breaths better on top. Twin air power flow cage another increase.  To the op 200 is a little hvy for a 125. Easy way to loose lbs quick & easy . Is speed sit ups . Back on flour ft in air do legs quick moves back& forth, bicycle, etc. arms behind  your head & in the air adds core burn & probably balance.  Do this in front of the hot chics doing cardio at 7pm sharp . The burn is nothing you,ll b able to do an hr or more after a few times. After that b4 bed you can still eat like a pig . The wt will drop magicaly with in 9 days.  Get your thigh muscles stronger. And that’s it. Your ready to become a 125 specialist or a 125 ProfeshenaL.  Personally I like the last gen yz125 better the feel of the bike. And that’s what it’s all about. On a 125 you don’t hv to back off much for corners or take the 2 main ruts. I land off a table top then dart left in 4th . To set up a 2 rut corner to a rt up hill step up.  I cut left then cut a angle to go inside the rut that takes me to the left side of the step up on the hill.  In 4th sliding the rear wheel a few ft sliding the front going in, standing up. If a rider is in the corner it blows his F ing mind. Because I,m 2 gears higher .  Ice riding technique. Oh man it feels good having that flow and never getting off the gas. Hit the step up clear the hill . Into a sweeping long rut into another step up 4th wo . A near fender kiss then push the front end down. To spot the landing in a valley.

I'll name 9 ways you can go wrong with a 250F:

-Heavy
-Hot
-Flameouts
-Hard to start (well, not so much anymore, now that they had to add 4 additional pounds' worth of electric start)
-Pipe burns your leg, melts your boots and pants
-Sounds like shit
-People 14 miles away know that it sounds like shit (it's LOUD)
-More complex to maintain
-More expensive

If a 250f is too heavy for you, you might want to consider a different sport, or maybe eat a hamburger once in a while.

He's a two-stroke guy he's not only talking about the overall weight of the bike it's the gyro effect the four-stroke has compared to the 2-stroke! You might want to take some night courses in physics if this is hard to understand and then grab you're super sized Big Mac deal with a Diet Coke LOL

Just get a YZ250. Put a gytr heavy flywheel on it, jet it properly, and maybe play with gearing a small bit... you won't regret it. Nearly all the fun of the 125 but with more than enough power to ride anywhere/do anything.

If you get hardcore into moto, besides getting your suspension revealed, look at beefing up your front brake. Thats the one thing I'm not super excited about my YZ.

Agree 100%. A flywheel weight transforms a 250 2-stroke. It makes it sooo much more rideable and predictable (‘01 KX250 went from beast to tractor).

But I had my ‘99 YZ125 the longest of any bike (but I’m a smaller guy - 5’7” 160lbs).

If he were talking a 450 I might have agreed with him, but he was talking a 250f, there isn't any "gyro effect" to speak of with a 250f. I don't need a physics course to realize at 55 when I ride a 250f for 2 hours in a hare scramble I don't find it heavy. At 5'11" 195# I am not quite ready for diet cokes just yet "LOL"

I'm convinced you are danny dolan, anyone else agree?

JoJo Keller was a big man on a 125.  He didn’t have to race against 250F bikes and jumps weren’t do or die but than man could run with or beat any fast New England 125 racer.
